Do the individual compartments seal completely? Would very small screws be able to mix through ga...

The cover is soft plastic, is flexible and can bend - that's not good for non-light weight projects. I bought a pair and tested them for a few weeks. The latches work really well, but I went with the stanley organizers from HD because: - For me, I move my organizers around a lot and occasionally I'd get mixing across compartments - I found it difficult to remove small screws, washers, etc., from the bottom of the compartments - with the 1/2 of the box where the walls can move around, I'd frequently find that the orange walls would move up slightly while digging stuff out of the compartments, which caused more mixing - I decided that I wanted small boxes to hold each type of item. This let's me easily pull out a single box and have all the nuts/screws/etc. of the size I wanted. - The HDX boxes are smaller and don't hold as much as the Stanley organizers - The Stanley has a hard plastic cover that keeps everything in the right compartments - The Stanley latches are flexible, like the HDX latches, which is good. The Dewalt and some other organizers have hard plastic latches, which quickly crack, causing the box to lose its compartment integrity. - For Craftsman lovers (I'm a reformed one) StanleyBlackDecker owns the Craftsman brand and they just started selling Craftsman organizers that are the same as the Stanley organizers, except in red. If you want a light use organizer, the HDX boxes work well. I gave them to my granddaughter who uses them for her crafts - she loves them! I attached a few pics of the stanley organizers in action.

Do the trays/compartments individually come out of the box?

NO - the have pop-out separators, but no small parts. Look at Stanley or Dewalt for that. Also, some of these separators are part of the base box, so they don't move (These are hidden under the label). If you want these open, just cut out the sections you don't want - if you have an oscillating tool, cutting out the walls takes about 10 seconds (that's what I did). For the price, you're getting two good organizers.

How long will it be this price

No one but HD knows, but the $12 price isn't a marked as a "Sale". I've noticed that they disappear from the shelves as soon as they go out.

BRING THESE BACK! I started an organizing system based on these and now I can't get them.

lots of organization but cheaply made
Love the amount of organization but I had this item for less than 6hrs, got everything organized and put in on my workbench with a few other things but didnt put it on far enough so it fell 40” and popped open. Screws and nails everywhere, hours of work sorting gone to waste. Corner is broken now. Will look into getting a name brand power tool organizer instead that is build better

This product is straight forward and fantastic for organization. My son loves Lego blocks and we needed a way to organize them for quick builds and finding things easily. I bought 6 of these organizers and they came through like a champ. What's fantastic is that I'm able to adjust the size of the compartments due to the dividers being removable. Perfect for the larger pieces! If you need something that is practical and will not break the bank... this case 2 pack is for you!

These organizers are inexpensive, for what you are getting. They are built tough for a homeowner, but not for a contractor. The case has nice plastic sliding locks and snaps. The redundancy avoids accidental opening/spilling. One downside is that only half of the compartments are adjustable. I use it to store office supplies.

This is one of those products that you say to yourself, how in the world can HD make these parts organizers so well made & inexpensive! 2 for the price of one! The only thing I would change is the front cardboard cover, it's misleading... the way it reads, you think that all of the compartments are changeable when really only 1/2 of them are (bottom 2 rows). Don't get me wrong, they are a bargain at less than $10 for 2 of them & they even interlock together to boot! I like that there are 4 locks on the top, so they are VERY secure. I used to have all my little screws, nuts and bolts in a double sided organizer, but once it dropped and everything went all over the floor and took hours to put back into the case in their right compartments, I knew I had to get something that had better latches like this one does.

I own many organizers that hold a variety of electrical connectors, hardware and other parts and pieces. Most of my organizers are Dewalt and Milwaukee brands and cost a lot more than 2/$10. I like the size of the HDX organizers and they meet my needs for machine screws, nuts and washers. They are a good size for smaller parts and they are cheap but I don't think they would hold up at a construction site or bouncing around in the back of my truck but they probably won't leave my shop. They have 4 latches to hold the cover securely. The two side latches also connect stacked organizers together.
