Asked by: Amber
Sorry No this is not an out side light and the gage wire may not handle the bulb watt your putting in it to get good heat from it. the rear socket of the lamp light may be expose to the rain out side and its not weatherproof.

I returned one because I thought it was defective when the shield fell off the threads, but the replacement did the same thing. I was trying to make light boxes for photography with these - maybe if i glue them together it will work. Probably fine for temporary and quick use.

I stared at the pieces for 15 minutes, then searched out the video. Very straightforward and simple, but not AT ALL like any of the approaches that occurred to me just by looking at the pieces. Perhaps I'm a dunce, but dunces need clamp lights too! Incidentally, I've been using the fixture for a week or so with a separately purchased (not from HD) full-spectrum grow light and we're VERY HAPPY with the results.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from well it is a light They come assembled so all you have to do is add the light bulb. that is not the issue, the big issue is the metal reflector over the process of heating up causes the threads to stretch enough that the reflector will become loose and fall off the plastic socket sleeve. When it does it will of course fall on the bulb it self and not fall off, but that is only because it lands on the bulb. I really do not want the reflector to fall on the lamp my self or sit on it. My lamps I got from home depot over the past 5 years as I needed them, I have gone so far as to track down and contact the lamp manufacturer. They sent me new ones that worked fine for a while before this once again became a issue. as many lights as I have to deal with, it is a annoyance. The only 1 solution I found is, high temp tape good for 200 + deg. F. this way you can wrap the threads so the reflector will stay on and the tape will not melt, or burn.
