I am removing nails from boards from the underside of my deck -- will this palm nailer push them back up into the board. I need to replace joists and I am keeping the deck boards.

Mine worked just fine for nailing 2x's and everything else I used it for. Just hold on tight, it's NOT a toy, you will be surprised how much power you have in your hand with the maximum air pressure. It will nail most anything you have, and from the bottom, side or top. You should have good air pressure though, it's required for proper nailing. Rolds88

Is it Corded or Cordless?

Asked by: Matus
Well Matus, Look again, It is air hose ready and requires 90 psi to operate. ( I guess that is corded ) Corded with an air hose. No toy, it is a small, but HD Nail Gun.

It said for 6d to 16d nails. Can shorter nails be used? like 1 to 1.5 inch long?

This tool will nail anything above the surface, BUT I would not want my hand holding the nail when it starts working like a 'Jackhammer' on the nail head. You can go back and re-seat nails that are not seated well, it may even bend or nail crooked, depending on how you hold the tool when using it. Hold it correctly an it does a Very Good job.

3-1/2 in. Mini Palm Nailer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Nails with a Little Nailer Wear Gloves with Padding. This little nailer is deceiving. It packs a punch that puts nails where they are suppose to be. Deep in the wood. I have not had much experience with a palm nailer, but I love this little rascal. I am use to using a framing nailer and there have been many times where I could not get the nailer in to drive a nail let alone a hammer. Now with this little tool no place is inaccessible. I was sure surprised at the power this tool has. I am not use to the vibration so that is why I say wear gloves with padding. I was using it to get a feel for it and my hand went to sleep due to the vibration. This is for those places you cant get a framing gun, not to drive every nail although I guess you could do it, I do think it is a good investment. I like the way it fits in my hand and the power it has. It fits in my tool belt so when I need it I have it, Pop off the framer and pop on the palm nailer and away you go. In a tight place it cannot be beat. A plus to any DIY'er tool belt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you have an air compressor and don’t have one... If you have an air compressor and don’t have one of these you are missing out. I am building a deck and have a framing nailer but it is not the tool for attaching metal joist hangers & other metal hardware. This is the tool. And at less than a box of nails for my framer it’s an incredible value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mini-Palm nailer easy to use The HDX Mini-Palm Nailer is not something I thought would use much, but it has found a spot with my other tools after using it for the first time. I have an air compressor for brads and finish nailing and it seemed logical to get this for larger projects. Found it ridiculously easy to use and the magnetized holder makes driving common type nails a one hand operation . It fits securely in my hand, small and light weight feels natural using it. Having said this, still apply caution as nails under high pressure can still blow out or ricochet on a knot like other nailers. Nails go easily into 2x4's without effort and although its intended for use in tight spaces can be used anyplace once the compressor's set up. I'd recommend it for building or repairing an outside deck or other similar type projects. Should have gotten this years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome little nailer Needed to drive nails in tight framing areas. Had a $40 Porter-Cable in hand then saw this at a front display. Identical to the PC one and light as can be. Bought one to test it out. Had no problems driving 16d nails. Went back and bought two more for the crew. Couple things, it's noisy so have ear protection handy. Some nail heads (full round) had a difficult time fitting inside the magnetic collet. Took a bit of tinkering but found a way. Be careful when loading nails that you don't insert too far or you activate the hammer. OUCH!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is a power house. Framed out a basement... This thing is a power house. Framed out a basement bathroom, crazy angles, around I-beams, around ducts. Basically, the job sucked and since I don’t have a framing nailer, this thing saved me. Use a punch for toe nailing, but I got pretty comfortable with it hit and toe nailed on the fly some
