I have never tried an LED bulb in one of these lights. If the LED bulb is rated for a standard fixture. I would try it.

I love the 8 1/2 in. 150-watt Aluminum incandescent Light Fixture with Clamp! I really needed a light like this for my painting projects. This works great. I just clamp it onto my ladder and point the light to where I am painting. It swivels very easily and the clamp is very tight so holds in place. This is a great design, is lightweight and small to store. I highly recommend this product.

The clamp holds tight to anything you clamp it to. I was using it in the garage clipped upside down to provide spot lighting and it just stayed there, solid. The head can be swiveled any which way so that you can point the light to where you need it. I use an LED bulb so that there is no heat produced and he aluminum shade won't heat up. Cord is about 3 feet long but can be used with an extension cord. The clamp is also easy to open with one hand when attaching it to something.
