I polyurethaned 3 counter-tops recently, the last two with these. Left less bubbles than a brush, even a quality one. Left more bubbles than a foam brush but not a significant difference. Ended up applying with these pads because you could load them more with the poly and then a final brush out with a 4 inch foam pad. No bubbles.

If your staining, use these pads to apply an even later of color. Pad held up to dozens of board feet of pine. In areas not sanded smooth, the wood did get grabby with the pads.

I had purchased 2 different kinds of staining pads to do do my deck. The plan was to stain the deck with a pad that covered two boards at a time attached to a pole and your pads for the smaller areas such as the railings. The larger pad turned out to make a huge uneven mess. So I did the entire deck with your pads. Stain want on smoothly getting into cracks nicely. Any snags did not make the pad fall apart. Really was pleased with how even it distributed the stain with no drops. I would highly recommend this product for staining. Not so much for a deck over 200 square foot without knee pads though :) Thanks guys this is my go to for stain For Sure!

This was my first time using anything other than a foam brush for staining floors and I will only be using this in the future! This helped get a much more even, thinner coat of stain which made our floors look amazing. The pad is shaped nicely, although slightly difficult to get into and out of the quart size stain container, but I don't know how this could be improved much. The sponges are very durable and the materials used make the stain go on smooth. Will absolutely buy again.

Bag O Rag's
A good general purpose, lightweight "shop rag" that I don't mind tossing if they get ruined. Not super thick and the edges shed a bit so I wouldn't recommend this for detailed finishing work. Some stains or stain conditioner might be fine in my opinion, but I probably wouldn't use these with a final coat or clear finish or any kind. (you should be using a good brush anyways!)

Good Rags
These are handy rags and there are a bunch in the package! They are mixed fabrics, with some being cotton and some synthetic (rayon & polyester). For my use, all cotton would be better. I used them for cleaning up a CV joint I was rebuilding and they worked great. the cotton is better on the oil & grease than the synthetics. An economical bag of rags for those messy jobs!

A bag of t-shirt scraps; endless possibilities
This is essentially a 4lb bag of cut up white t-shirts. My guess is these are scraps from a factory somewhere. I used these to clean my kitchen in conjunction with glass cleaner and stainless steel cleaner. These work great, and don't leave any streaks or annoying paper residue that paper towels would leave. The best part about using t-shirt scraps? They are machine washable. So, once one gets saturated with cleaner, I can send it through the washer. I imagine this will save me quite a bit on paper towels. My husband was able to use these to stain wood; although messy (gloves required), they work just as well as a sponge brush to distribute stain. They are also great to wipe of dust after sanding wood projects. I wouldn't describe these as high quality or durable--they are just t-shirt material scraps. If you're looking for something that will last, maybe get some bar towels instead. But these will work great for your everyday use and are cheap enough to throw away without feeling guilty. One note on the packaging; it's stuffed to the brim, so if you open the bag expect them to come out easily. You might need to transfer these to another container. What I did was cut a small slit in the middle of the bag, and remove the scraps like tissues.

Good amount of assorted texture rags.
I can never have enough rags when I'm working on a project. This is a nice bag of rags. Looks like it mostly consists of remnants. Some big, some small. They come in three different textures that I've seen so far, standard cotton t-shirt type fabric, ribbed thsirt fabric and something that has a little more texture and thickness that looks like a terrycloth towel on one side. The edges aren't finished and they do shed a little so if you're using them for stain or wipe-on poly fold them so the edges aren't exposed.
