Solid as a rock!
When I say solid as a rock I mean that the galvanized steel so thick that it doesn't flex even when it load it with a 50 gal. heater full of water. The platform is easy to install from the ceiling . All you need is 4 - 3/8" or 1/2" treaded rod, 24 flange nuts and a way to connect it to the ceiling. You must remember that the connection must be strong enough to take the wait of the tank and water. I hope this helps with your decision. Good luck with all your projects.

heavy duty
I got this to put my air compressor on to get more room in my garage. What I didn't do was figure out where I wanted to put it. Once it showed up, I realized how big it actually is and the two places I had in mind it won't work for. I plan to rearrange my garage this winter and will have a space for it to hang then. It is a very solid piece of metal, and will require some heavy threaded rod and hangers to get it installed - definitely not a one man job. It would work great for hanging a hot water heater - which IS what it is designed for.

Easy
This platform is made of strong and heavy metal. There is no way this platform would ever fall apart, nor be bent.
The only complaint I have in regards of this platform is all edges are sharp; not really sharp enough to cut skin, but it doesn't feel good to the touch making it uncomfortable to install.
Left wondering how this platform will withstand rust, if there is something that could be applied to it before installation to resist rust.
Overall this platform is basically indestructible.
