Product Details

The HOME-FLEX Underground 1/2 in. Conversion Fitting allows you to safely and easily convert your polyethylene gas pipe to male pipe threads. Simply cut the pipe, slide in the provided stiffener and slide into the fitting and tighten down. Allows you to easily connect to existing steel, or add a reducer.
  • HOME-FLEX underground compression fitting for size MDPE yellow poly gas pipe. Includes stiffener.
  • Purpose-built for direct burial outside underground use only.
  • HOME-FLEX UNDERGROUND pipe and fittings should NEVER be used in a building and should NEVER be used under a foundation with a structure on it.
  • Approved for direct burial
  • Male National Pipe Taper (NPT) galvanized metal threads
  • No special tools or equipment required to fit to compatible sized yellow poly gas pipe
  • Rated at 125 psi
  • IAPMO UPC certified to ASTM F1924

    Q:1/2" fitting looks proper for the steel pipe side (screws into a 1/2" FMP fitting), however, it looks like the polyproylene side, is larger that the 1/2" plastic pipe that I need to connect to. Pipe is in use right now, so don't want to cut just to try.

      A:  Hi, plumbett - No, those new fittings are only made in 1/2", 3/4" and 1". You can use our 1 1/2" transition fitting, however.

        A:  Hi, TomW - Yes, the male threads on this part are 1/2" IPS which will fit any off-the-shelf 1/2" IPS fitting.

          As advertised, a gas fitting
          Poly fitting well constructed but the steel was questionable. Instead of a steel fitting, a brass one for the transition would have been more suited for burial. Had to seal the steel with w/a anti-corrosion preventative. Treated it like a exterior shipboard cable install, a layer of self-vulcanizing tape, electrical tape and scotchkote.
