        Answer This Question

A:  Dear customer,This flooring can tolerate up to 600 pounds. The amount of weight a wood floor will tolerate will depend on many factors. Generally speaking, If you’re planning to install a new wood floor and are worried about weight tolerance issues, make sure the weight is evenly distributed. If you want to protect your wooden floor from this type of weight damage, A recommended option is to place rubber protectors or cups under the feet to stop the floor’s surface from being pierced by the weight.

Product looks great and install was fairly easy, however scratches very easily and some edges chipped during install. Used cheaper engineered hardwood a few years ago and it has held up well. For the price of this product I would expect it to do as well or better than cheaper product. One week after installing, already concerned how it will look in the future.

Poor performance WILL NOT withstand normal wear
Have had flooring one year and this flooring scratches too easily, dents and molding pieces peel and chip. See attached pictures.

Looks great, yet they aren't that tough against abrasion. I placed self sticky felt pads on most of our furniture and try not to move it too much. With carpeting one can slide furniture easily, yet with the Hand Scraped Maple it's always a challenge.I'm committed to the HSM now of course because it's in several rooms, yet I'd think twice before I'd purchase it again.

Heartbroken that we spent so much money on this.
We purchased this for our home which will become a rental home this summer. We bought enough for 3 upstairs, low-traffic bedrooms and a hallway. We have solid, real hardwood downstairs but wanted to save some money and at the time, this was cheaper. It's awful. We haven't even finished installing it and there are already scratches and scrapes and tears that expose how Not Real this "engineered" hardwood is-just from furniture being moved back into place (even with the pads on the bottom!). Unless you have no kids, and basically walk around on egg shells and never move your furniture, this isn't the flooring you want to spend money on. Go for the real thing so when you scratch it up, you can sand it down and refinish it. Either that or go with carpet. This flooring had scratches and tears within HOURS of installation. It's going to need to be replaced before we try to sell the house in a few years. I don't know how you feel about putting hard floors down, but my idea was that with renters, they wouldn't have to be replaced as often as carpet. Well, with this flooring-you will probably have to replace it sooner because you can't clean out the rips and tears, and it's not wood, you can't fill them in and sand it down and blend it with the surrounding laminate. We're returning what we have left and carpeting the bedroom we haven't installed in yet. Don't do this to yourself. Get real wood.

            Avoid spiked heels!
Make sure if you install this wood to tell people to take shoes off. High heels where the nail to the heel is exposed can cause serious damage.

              Awesome "wood" flooring
I installed this floor about 5 years ago in my house. Their is a lot of traffic and yes, they're are scratches and dents. And yes, it does creek when walked on. But one thing to remember is, it's a wood floor. It expands and contracts with the temperature and humidity. It's wood, of course it's going to scratch and dent. If u don't want to deal with any of that, get yourself tile that looks like wood! I think the more scratches and dents it gets the more character it gets. But, I would recommend getting a good quality vapor/ sound barrier. All in all I love it and would do it again. Only wish the made tread and risers for staircases.
