Defective product and Hoover would not make it right
I bought this and registered it with Hoover. Did not use it for months. On first use, discovered it leaks, leaving a stream of dirty water behind it. On inspection, the seal on the top of the dirty water container was only half there. Called Hoover and they would not send a seal or any replacement parts because I could not find my receipt! I tried to fix the seal and tried to find one locally to replace it and nothing worked. It still leaves a trail of dirty water everywhere it goes. Hoover would not fix; only said they would sell me a new tank section for the unit; wanting more money to give me what I already paid for. I'm outraged. Shame on Hoover.

It GUSHES cleaner onto the carpet right off the bat
Used it for the first time 2 days ago. Even before I squeezed the trigger to start shampooing, it gushed the cleaning solution out into one place in the carpet. It took 3 fills to clean a hallway. And now I have to rinse the giant places where it deposited the solution. When it DID clean properly, it did a wonderful job.

it works great
Cleaning my rugs that my cats do their business on.The only thing I don't like about it is that it is not wider to clean a bigger area in width. I would recommend it to a friend.

Leaks
It started by cleaning the carpet very well but as soon as I was the bottom leaked a good amount of the gunk back on the carpet. There's definitely a reason they give you the little mat, would be a great product if it didn't leak before I could empty (or move it in general without drainage)

Never buy hoover
Bought this power dash pet model FH50710.Used it once and second time smelt burning and it stopped. Called hoover and customer service e said get it fixed and you pay for it. The unit is 6 months old. Terrible customer service.

Not recommended
Recently received this as a gift and do not recommend it due to its poor performance and asinine design. Between having to pre-treat stains anyway and maintaining the unit itself I save no time from the spray bottle and towel where I started. The location of the spout on the dirty water reservoir is depressed more than the walls around it, meaning it can never be totally emptied of the liquid and sediment that eventually accumulates in the tank. A similar story with the bizarrely flat (versus tapered) opening on the clean water tank. Add that to the unit-wide crevice above the roller (in which will be forever trapped any solid waste the first time you attempt to use the device) and you end up with a product that, even if it did work, I cannot recommend. The manual clearly states to follow the instructions included with any cleaning solution before use, but the cleaning solution that comes with the unit merely refers to the manual for instruction. The manual also warns not to use the device as a vacuum, so before you even use this you are supposed to have cleaned the affected area, waited for it to dry and then used a traditional vacuum, before finally pre-treated again for tough stains. What is this thing even for then? In an attempt to clean gross pet mess from the inside of the unit I disassembled it per the instructions to remove the roller and was disappointed to find it was impossible to clean the crevices conveniently visible through the clear plastic on the front of the unit. Photo attached of how it looks AFTER cleaning. And after a week in the closet the thing is still dripping from somewhere, so now my closet stinks like wet pet mess just like my carpet.

Gets up stains the other brand left for years
We have dogs and cats, mix of ages and hair lengths and of course love all the crazy little critters. A couple years ago our senior dog had several accidents on the carpet and we used the fancy B word cleaner that we purchased for about 4x the price of this one. It seemed to work on the worst of the soil but never pulled up the WET when trying to dry the carpet after cleaning. The result was a stain that reappeared on the wet spot and a foul smell that we just couldn't get rid of no matter what we tried. Frustrated and many sinus problems later we decided to try this Hoover compact cleaner. We've only had it a week but it's removed the old stains and smells. Before getting carried away, I did 3 spots that were really bad and they have not returned...with the old cleaner the spots kept coming up through the carpet again and again. After using the Hoover, smell is still as fresh as when I cleaned it a few days ago. To get it really clean, I will need to take my time and clean the carpet in the whole room not just my little test spots. I wasn't really sure it was going to work as well as it did. I did try the sample carpet shampoo from Hoover and another brand I had. They both removed the same amount of stains and dirt but I did like the scent that the Hoover one left.

No more cat stains or smell yayy!
It's lightweight, easy to use and actually cleans! We discovered one of our cats, she's very territorial. Urine marked under a plastic mat by the door. It got the hair! See for yourself in the pics.

Great carpet cleaner but the brush quit working
I have an elderly pug that has her senior moments and it was perfect to just grab it an clean the mess up but very compact an easy to use , but my brush stopped spinning today day and I called the store I had purchased it from and I was barely over their 90 day return policy was told that I had to contact the company Hoover please contact me I loved my little Hoover Dash Pet ..
