AnswersThe vacuum motor is rated at 120 volts and 12 amps (max) so the motor can produce up to 1440 Watts. (volts time amps equal watts (power)). Some of that power is used to produce the air flow (using a fan) and some of it is used to drive the beater bar (brush). So "air watts" is not really a "thing". However if you are using just the air hose, and have the brush turned off, all of the power from the electric motor is being used to produce the moving air (the vacuum or suction), so it could be called "air watts" if you will, and it is a maximum of 1440 watts.

AnswersI would say it is a little in the heavier side. It rolls easy, however when you are grooming medium height carpet it does give your arm a work out. Bottom line, I would not call it TOO heavy.

DO NOT BUY
This vacuum sucks. It really does. And that's all it does. It is AWESOMELY powerful and with pet hair in the house, I could not be happier with it's performance. That's where the glowing review stops. My Hoover is about a year old and my previous vac - a Dyson - lasted a good ten years so it's not me. I also have an older Hoover bagged vacuum and a Hoover carpet cleaner, both of which are great. I just don't know why this one is such bad quality. 1. The plastic parts are cheap and flimsy. The bottom plastic bit to hook the cord around to store snapped off within weeks, the plastic to hold the attachments also broke off months later AND the plastic to hold the hose in place on the left side is cracked and ready to break off. So forget having attachments handy on the machine and storing it neatly. And when I vacuum everything is flopping around. 2. When you empty the cannister the bottom keeps a good chunk of dirt and debris in crevices, so you have to move it over and tap it to get the rest out (if it hasn't already emptied back on the floor.) 3. I knew I would have to turn a knob to change from floor to use the hose but with everything else - it's a pain. 4. The cord is at the the bottom so you have to hold it up so you don't roll over it vacuuming. Could I get things fixed under warranty? Maybe - but I really hate so many things about it I'm calling it a lesson (and a lost $170) and giving up. Buyer Beware.

Good for high pile carpet and pet!
I bought this a couple weeks ago after a research on what vacuums would do high pile carpeting. We have Dyson pet and that has too strong of suction. Great vacuum but does not have multiple floor type settings. I was skeptical at first with setting levels but If
I put on 7 it is manageable high pile carpet. Hoover is a well trusted brand for years.
The pet attachment is nice as well.

I will Never Leave You Again, Hoover!!
I had no idea how much I missed good old Hoover products!! We always had Hoovers growing up. I used to think they were the only brand of vacuum that existed!
I got frustrated trying different, expensive, rollerball, Sharkey, fancy ones...thought newer would be better...and had some credit from a return at Walmart. I realized our old, super expensive drag along vacuum was over 5 years old, no longer working, and everyone admitted that they hated it
So, with 3 dogs in the house and nothing to lose but my store credit, I tried this one.
I am NOT a domestic goddess. I seriously can count on one hand how many times I have vacuumed this house in 4 years (no shame, not proud - I would rather pay someoneto do it for me). OMG!! What a freaking game changer!
I realized the reason I haven't vacuumed is because my kids were right and I hated the vacuum, too, but it was so expensive I just never wanted to admit it! This thing is actually...dare I say it...fun!!!
It is red, powerful and super zoomy. I am thrilled with the cleaning and suction power. Definitely a high performance item. Good old Hoover...just like I remember when we would all flee "the beast," grabbing toys, chords and curtains out of its path!
Super DUPER happy, and will never stray from Hoover, again!

Effortless cleaning!!!!!
There are so many things I love about this vacuum that it's hard to know where to start.
This vacuum also swivels very easily so it's much easier to vacuum around furniture. It maneuvers almost effortlessly.It has great suction,I have been using my new Wind Tunnel for nearly 6 months. It is perfect. It has the power to suck steel BB's out of carpet and clean up pet hair like no other vacuum. It is quite heavy but it works very well with pet hair and child messes.

I even had them check other boxes and all were the same
i called hoover and the supervisor excuse was and I quote " may not look the same, may not bee the same, but still works the same"
their selling basic units in a 3 generation box
I looked up the serial number on the unit and it matched the display and the unit pictured on the box. BUT it was what was in the box !!!
Your display and Hoover even claims a 5 year warrantee but listed on the box is 3 years
I will never buy a Hoover Again
You should forward this to corporate and have them investigate how Hoover is according to hoover a supervisor is intentionally ripping off your consumers

Nor what’s pictured on the box inside the box
I bought this because of the ability to change the suction from the hose to the brush head. It is on the display model in two different stores. It is pictured on the box but not what is inside the box even though it has the same model number. Very disappointed in Hoover for this. So I guess buyer beware. If you don’t care about this feature it will be a fine vacuum.

We just purchased this vacuum two weeks ago as we had moved into a new home with carpet and we have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. This vacuum claims to be a "Performance Pet Vacuum". It's not. It will not pick up the fur that it adhering to the carpet. I hate it and will be returning it if I can find my receipt. Before having this vacuum I had always had a Dyson, but did not want to spend the money as we plan to replace all this carpet with hardwood in 6 months or so. I have no idea what I am going to replace it with. Attached are photos of the fur and carpet lint I "raked up" by just running my foot along the floor AFTER vacuuming it. (to be noted I was using it correctly and had selected the "floor" feature and not the hand suction. My husband thought I just had to be using it wrong) 8\

Hi Nycti, thank you for reviewing the Hoover WindTunnel 3 Max Performance Pet Upright Vacuum. Here are some helpful tips to improve the suction: check to see if the filter or nozzle is clogged. Turn off the unit and disconnect the nozzle to remove the debris. Also check the hose for any built up debris, and use the handle of a broom to remove. We also recommend checking the filter by removing it from your vacuum and tapping out any built up dirt/debris that could be resting on it. Rinse the filter with water until the water runs clear and allow a dry time of 24-36 hours. We hope this improves your suction! Unbelievable
I will admit, I am a clean snob. My house cleaner told me we needed a new vacuum cleaner and I bought this one just from the reviews. I vacuumed myself after the little bit of assembly. I only vacuumed a few rugs and, OMG, the amount of dust and crud it picked up was amazing. My old vacuum must not have been working at all. This one sucked up the dirt to the core of the rugs. I actually took a picture of the amount of crud I dumped out after one run through! I recommend this vacuum to the nth degree of a billion. Amazing.
