    Answer This Question

A:  This moulding is for picture frames

    by|May 5, 2023

A:  It could be. I would not recommend it. Would be very difficult to clean. It’s just not baseboard material.

    by|May 5, 2023

      A:  No

      by|May 5, 2023

A:  No, I can't imagine that this would work. It is quite thick, and not very tall. I think it would look very "clunky". I used it to frame a mirror (see picture).

A:  It is not intended as baseboard and would not work well as it does have a rabbit cut or used on a mirror and loved it

This was exactly what I needed to transform my space!...
This was exactly what I needed to transform my space! I bought the Samsung frame tv and loved it, but when I went to purchase a frame for it I found out they wanted nearly the same amount of money for the frame that they wanted for the tv itself! This was super easy and turned out great! Love my new picture frame tv!

Great product and easy to work with. I used it to make a wedding dress shadow box for my wife. After 27 years in a garment bag I found a way to bring it back to life and make it easier to find.

                            Pleased!
I rarely write reviews but I am making this one exception. I am an artist. I frequently need large frames for my life-sized figurative paintings. I was initially skeptical about ordering from House of Fara after reading a few of the reviews mentioning warped or damaged frame wood. Since the price was entirely reasonable, I decided to take a chance. I am glad that I did! My order arrived on time and in perfect condition! I was delighted with the workmanship, too! Thanks! My only suggestion is that House of Fara should invest in better photos for their website because the actual product looks so much better than the website's posted images.

                              Great for picture frames
I bought this moulding specifically to make frames for some paintings. They were easy to cut with a miter saw and put together with liquid nail. Then i spray panited it, the finished product looks great!

First, the description of the wood is "hardwood". Its a softwood. Secondly, the packaging of the material was very good. However, the wood was damaged for about 8 inches on the one end. This means that the wood was boxed damaged. Either the person didn't notice or he/she thought they could get away with it. Unfortunately I needed the wood quickly and ended up using it for my project or else I would have returned. Third, a piece of paper in the package from House of Fara (the supplier) indicated that their complete satisfaction was their goal so I called them. The young lady could care less that I was unhappy with the product and it was damaged. I offered to send pictures but she didn't care. I have attached photos of the page and the wood.

Low-cost alternative for large picture frames
We wanted to frame some large mirrors. Frame shops would have cost hundreds for roughly 72" x 30". I used this stock for a small fraction of that. I would have liked it even more if Home Depot carried more than just the one style. It's hard to take a decent photo of a mirror in the daytime -- but you get the idea. To be safe I started with a primer coat of Kilz(TM). Then I used Martha Stewart Crafts(TM) "Pure Platinum" metallic, slightly thinned. It was overlaid with a wash-coat of India (drafting) ink that was rubbed off to achieve the antique silver look. I'm pleased with the outcome.
