The Square Hole Cast Iron Mounting Kit is used as the decorative cover for iron newel installations and is designed to hide gaps and imperfections during installation. This shoe is designed to fit 1 in. square iron newels. The hole will measure 1-1/16 in. as to not scrape the iron newel during installation. Installs with epoxy.
  • Shoe dimensions are 3-1/8 in. round
  • Smooth satin black powder coating over solid wrought iron
  • Used with 1-3/16 in. round iron newels
  • Uses 2 part epoxy for installation and hides gaps left over from installation

I would have given this a 5 star if the flange fit over the post. I had to mill out almost a 1/4 ...
I would have given this a 5 star if the flange fit over the post. I had to mill out almost a 1/4 inch of material from the inside of the flange for it to fit over the post. I have a mill that made this easy for me but it would have been impossible for most to do this. Someone needs to make sure the two pieces fit before they box them for shipping. This would take 2 seconds.

    Worked perfectly except the aluminum covers wouldn't fit over the posts, they were too tight,even after machining the inside of the cover it still wouldn't fit!
