When fully open, the doors will be at a 130 degree angle, which will need additional room. If there is any cabinet or wall preventing the door from opening completely, the side that has the obstruction will need 12” of clearance. Hello there, we couldn't be more sorry to hear your produce is being frozen in your refrigerator. We would never expect this for our consumers so we can certainly understand how aggravating this would be. Placing large items or hot/warm food next to the thermister blocks the airflow to the thermister which gives it false air temperature. This can cause food to freeze. The thermister is typically located on the top left side of the refrigerator cabinet. It looks like a dome shaped plastic capsule with slats on it. Moving those items 6 inches away from the thermister should improve temperature consistency. We also recommend checking the following: 1) Check the controls to make sure the refrigerator is set to the proper temperature. 2) Food load is an important factor. The fresh food drawers and compartment should ideally be at least 1/2 full or more. Freezing is more likely to occur when the refrigerator does not have enough food to absorb the cold air. We suggest adjusting the temperature in the compartment to the next warmer setting. If this doesn't work use page 13-14 of the Use and Care manual for more troubleshooting tips. Sorry Luke. No, you can't set different temperatures for the different sides of the freezer.

Hi - thanks for reaching out. This refrigerator does not have convertible temperature features in each freezer section. However, our Smart 4-Door French-Door Café refrigerators (another line we manufacture) does have an adjustable temperature drawer with five customized temperature settings (Soft Freeze, Meat, Beverage, Snacks, and Wine - that range from 23 to 42 degrees Fahrenheit). Additionally, our Café Smart Quad-Door refrigerator is equipped with a fully convertible zone (ideal for chilling or freezing a range of items). We hope this information is helpful to you! Hello there - great question! There are several differences between these two refrigerators, but you're right - they are similar in a lot of ways, too! One key difference is that model QHE16HYPFS has the option to add an ice maker in the freezer section, whereas model HRQ16N3BGS does not. Additionally, model QHE16HYPFS has more space in the freezer (5.54 cubic feet compared to 5.3 cu. ft. with model HRQ16N3BGS). They also differ in finish - model HRQ16N3BGS is stainless steel and model QHE16HYPFS is fingerprint-resistant stainless steel. (Unlike traditional stainless, fingerprint-resistant stainless does not require the use of special stainless cleaners.) So many of us have asked this same question and I'm sure the answer is still no. That's the only drawback to this refrigerator. Otherwise, I love mine. It's easy to see what is in the refrigerator and especially the freezer because of the two trays and 4 drawers.

We have had ours for a couple of years now and when we bought it we were told no you cannot add an ice maker so if they haven't changed them you cannot add an ice maker. But it has been a great refrigerator we love it and if you can live without an ice maker we would say get it. Hope this helps.
