It's not real critical; a pan-head or round-head wood screw, #8 or #10 would be good, and 3/4 inch or 1 inch length will be sufficient, though you could go longer.

What screw is recommeded for these straps on drywall?

You'll need to use an actual anchor going into drywall or be sure to fasten into a stud. Attaching with just a screw into drywall will get you a failed inspection.

Does not fit 3/4" EMT. These straps are not tall enough to be used for flush mounting 3/4 EMT. They're just a bit too short, which causes the screw hole to sit at an angle when torqued down for mounting.

Worked well in fastening conduit. Since the hole is elonged use of a washer helps it from not slipping

Normally these are used for mounting conduit but I used mine to mount solar spotlights on the railing of my deck. I choose the single hole versions since the diameter of my spotlights is not a common size as conduit is and the single hole gave me some flexibility.

A better strap
I prefer these one-hole straps because that way I don't have to drill two holes in masonry. For rigid conduit (EMT) these get the job done fast. My only complaint is that they are hard to come by at Home Depot (my primary store doesn't stock them).
