Turn to the 3/8 in. Twin Screw Non-Metallic Cable Clamp Connectors (5-Pack) to join non-metallic sheathed cable and flexible cord to steel outlet boxes or other metal enclosures. A reversible locknut cuts through protective coatings on boxes and enclosures to preserve grounding. This connector meets UL and CSA requirements.

Q:My inspector wants proof of how many 12-2 romexs and how many 12-3 romexs these connectors are rated for. How do I get that info to him?

A: I’m not to sure, I believe they changed the code on those, but I run 3 of each never more. To this day I’ve never been called out on it. But remember your boxes can only support some many wires, that code as also been change.

A: It?s right on the package in the fine print. For example, one connector can hold (3) 14/2. That?s up to three 14/2 Romex cables. It can handle only one 8/3 Romex NM cable where it says (1) 8/3-14/2 Romex.

Q:Is the Halex 3/8 non-metallic 2 screw connector UL listed for 2 14-2 romex cables? Could you email me the spec sheet showing this fact.

A: I cannot supply you with an official UL listing. Just want to say that I used thousands of identical ones as an electrical contractor in Phoenix, AZ for romex house wiring,all inspected and approved by somewhat picky inspectors. This was a few years ago. Using two 14/2 w/grd romexes in these box connectors always passed. Just use common sense and hope your inspector is familiar with that fading concept. I wish you well on your project.
