They are for wet locations! Make sure whatever retrofit you use is rated for wet environment also. Just installed 14 of these 4" in daylight basement with BR Series led retrofits. Not a bad price and excellent for installation on insulated ceiling. Good all Around product.
How are there two different answers for this question?
No, a PAR 30 bulb will not fit the diameter openings of the trims that fit this housing. As Eaton responded, there are various bulbs that fit, but the fit is usually based on the trim specs. Given the 4" diameter and the height of the can PAR 20 and below should fit fine. Again, select your trim and then select your bulb based on the trim specs. Hope this helps!
You should be OK as long as there are no vent pipes in the locations where you want to place the lights. I recently installed 5 of these as part of a kitchen remodeling project. Four went into the ceiling with no problem but the fifth can was hitting a drain pipe and would not go in flush. My installer had to bang a dent in the can in order for it to clear the drain pi;e.
I never used these in a wet location. I would contact the manufacturer for wet location trim options.
Rich - depending on your trim - the H1999 1" Socket Extender might solve your problem
As far as I know it does not have a plenum rating. Check the Spec Sheet to see if it is listed there for plenum use.
yes , as long as it stays dry under the eves.
Dear valued consumer, these housings are wet location rated. You would need to ensure that you choose a wet location rated trim to complete your lighting solution.
No! It is not rated for that wattage and heat transfer. Besides, a 250 watt Infra-Red Heat Lamp will not fit in the housing! You need a 6" housing, and check the label inside to be sure it is rated for 250 watts.
