HALO RLDM6 Selectable Series Downlights are complete 6 in. canless recessed lights designed for use in new construction, remodel and retrofit installation, without needing a housing or j-box. Canless design goes where LED can lights can't. These LED recessed lights feature the sleek aesthetics of the RL LED recessed lighting retrofit series without using a recessed housing. Choose your color temperature directly on the fixture. With the flick of a switch, you can choose between 5 color temperatures ranging from warm (2700K) to daylight (5000K) prior to installing into your ceiling. This HALO recessed lighting fixture features an LED driver that offers TRIAC dimming capability to 5% and a lens that provides uniform illumination and wet location listing. The RLDM recessed LED lights lens provides uniform illumination and wet location listing. (4 recessed lights included)

Since I was replacing one old 4 foot fluorescent fixture and the new Fixtures did not require box...
Since I was replacing one old 4 foot fluorescent fixture and the new Fixtures did not require boxes, I was able to install all five of the new ones without entering attic by removing the old box and connecting new one there and daisychaining to the other four. At 73, not having to crawl around in the cramped attic is a big plus! The lights are very bright and light the kitchen much better than the original. You almost need sunglasses! Ability to easily change color setting is also a plus.

Installed eight of these lights in our condo. The wife was skeptical at first. But now she's thanking me! Totally worth the effort and struggle to run the wire and drilling holes in the ceilings. Highly recommend you buy a 5 3/4" hole saw for the job!
