Questions & Answers

Can you fit 4x4 treated lumber inside the vertical supports?

Asked by Gamma April 18, 2021

Does it move with high wind conditions? We recently had our trampoline fly over our gate and across the street. How do you weigh it down?

Asked by Windy April 18, 2021

To prevent it from moving, I screwed it to my deck. It was put up in July and with all the snow and wind all winter, it was fine. Would definitely recommend screwing it down. Not sure what to do if it’s going directly onto the ground.

Can I buy privacy curtains for this gazebo?

How many hours for a general contractor to install this Item? Can this be tied to 4 concrete post...

Asked by Dudley April 12, 2021

I am using 4 concrete footing that go above ground from 6" to 18" (to level the gazebo. I placed one 12" galvanized bolt in each footing to screw the gazebo to the footing. I would make sure that the footings are not split poured, but that each footing is poured at one shot. I placed rebar in the hole before pouring. It will take about 4 hours to construct the gazebo and suspend it above where you want the holes dug. and depending upon your ground, it could take 45 min per footing to dig. Then 30 min to mix and pour each footing The 4 days later you can lower the gazebo onto the footing. Hope this helps

how to fasten to ground for high wind protection

Asked by Dudley April 12, 2021

if you are putting it on existing wood deck you can screw it in. If the deck does not cover the are where the legs are, I would suggest digging a hole, at least 2 feet deep, and get at least the 8" concrete tube, and some rebar. Dig the hole, drive in the rebar into the bottom of the hole, cut a section of concrete tubing and place it above the hole to the level you want the footings to go, mix the concrete and out in the hole. Then insert a galvanized bolt (8+ inches) into the still wet concrete to align with the hole in the bottom of the leg. This is at least a two person job. I built the gazebo then elevated the entire structure above the level I want the concrete to go. This allowed me to better estimate where the concrete footing needed to go Wait at least 5 days before lowering the gazebo onto the concrete footing. It takes about 30 days for the concrete to fully cure.

Where can I purchase this item. Can I get it from the manufacturer

Asked by MG April 11, 2021

Factory is in China. You can buy this gazebo in store or by net at Home Depot.

I like it. I strung some lights underneath and a solar panel on top which makes it pretty awesome to sit under in the evenings. It's solid, seems to have some mini rain gutters that redirect most water to the corners. The pieces all aligned together without any issue. It comes in a relatively small but very heavy box. It's impossible to carry, so it's best to have the Home Depot staff slide it onto the back of a truck and unpack it piece by piece from the tailgate. This could be built in a long day, I went slow over 3. The only advice I have for others is to screw in the bolts by finger as far as you can and use the included allen wrench to tighten it up. I tried to cheat and put the included bit in a drill but if it ever goes in a little crooked the bolt will jam and the drill will trash the bolt. I had to employ a screw remover to redo a few of them (spares are supplied). The netting is a decent perk. I don't think it's bug proof on the top and bottom edges but probably good enough with a mosquito coil if they get bad outside.

Beautiful Gazebo
This hard top gazebo is worth every penny. This gazebo replaced a canopy gazebo, and I decided to go with a hard top because I struggled finding the correct canopy.

I am so in love with this gazebo!
It took my cousin and a family friend approximately 5 hours to put it together and they both work in the construction industry. It is simply BEAUTIFUL! Well designed and super sturdy. It is quite heavy so make sure the place you put it together is where you want it to stay. I highly recommend this gazebo. I can't speak for the long term since I've only had it for a weekend but I just love it!

Fantastic gazebo installed on an elevated composite deck
Exactly what we wanted to add a little shade on our deck. installed this on an elevated composite deck. Half of each posts were secured into joists using 3/8" x 2.5" lag screws, the others using 5/16" x 2" lags into deck flooring. Assembly went together like clock work. Every hole was perfectly aligned and the overall quality of the product exceeded my expectations. Definitely a two person job so make sure you have a helper. I did use an impact driver on its lowest setting and it was perfect for speeding up the process.

Best Backyard Investment!
I searched everywhere last year for a gazebo and we found this one on a random cart at a local Home Depot. Everyone was otherwise out of stock! This had great reviews so we went with jt. I put it together with my husband over 2 days, and had a neighbor help us with the roof. The instructions were fantastic and easy to follow. We live in Central New York, and it can get pretty windy and snowy here. It probably was not necessary but I did put bags of sand in each post for some added stability because we did not attach it to our deck. The structure is very sturdy!! It was fabulous last summer. We bought a patio fan for the center of it, and then changed it out to a hanging heater for the fall to extend our use. I used the walls for our pop up canopy and strong magnets to create some privacy, block sun and keep rain out.. For the winter we got a cover for it so we could store the furniture and summer things. It held up great. I'm looking forward to taking the winter cover off and using it again very soon! The only thing I'd change is that the mosquito netting does not go all the way to the top and bugs can still get in. I fixed this by making my own screen soffits from heavy duty screening and attached them with the same strong magnets I used on the canopy walls.

Easy to build
Bought this gazebo based on all the high reviews. The packaging was nice and was inside a protective frame. The nuts, bolts, and screws were organized as well. The only real challenge was the roof which you will need 2 people. The kit came with hardware to stake it into the ground, but nothing for attaching to a wooden deck. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend this as everyone else already had.

My husband & his friend put this together in 6 hours by themselves. I did have to pitch in & help a few times by holding things in place, but overall it was simple to put together if you follow the instructions! The video on the built app is very helpful to explain steps the written instructions don’t. This item is very sturdy & well made. It looks beautiful anywhere you put it! We used 2 dollys to move it to our back yard; you will definitely need a trash bag to collect all the plastic bags the parts come in over the course of unpacking. I hope this gazebo lasts many years for us! We got lucky & caught it on sale in late August for almost half the price!
