The good, bad, and ugly
This review will include all the information you need to know about this product before buying or after. I bought this product for the second time now and don’t know if Hampton Bay has gotten sloppy in their production, or if I just don’t remember from putting up the first one, but there is absolutely nothing that is straight, plumb, square or aligned with the parts. You need to have a great amount of patience and some ability to modify (drill new holes) in order for this gazebo to work. Having said that, I do like the gazebo once it’s fully assembled and it will hold up well if taken care of. Every year or so I would spray paint the metal parts to keep them from rusting out. That, along with buying a replacement canopy as needed gave me at least 5 or more years use. The original canopy is much better and water resistant than the replacement from Garden Winds, just FYI. You can stay pretty dry underneath during a decent rain with the original, there’s a bit of a spray with the replacement one. Or you could just contact Hampton Bay for a new one, though I don’t know the cost comparison. Assembly: 1. You will find in the course of putting the panels and the top corner pieces together that some of the holes simply do not line up making it impossible to thread the necessary screws into place. Drilling new holes helped remedy that situation. 2. Bottom hub and top hub spokes are not sufficiently angled downward causing the legs that fit into them to splay. This results in outward pressure on the top rails causing them to bow outward. Allows rainwater to pool in pockets. Going to try bracing it with something like a yard stick. More problematic is the top hub that prevents the smaller canopy rigging from seating properly into the uprights that secure it in place. As you can see in the picture it’s off by about an inch. 3. To fix the top canopy problem I drilled new holes for the buttons to set into, about a half inch inward from the existing holes on each spoke of the hub. This brings the legs in just enough to fit into the upright posts. You may not need the second hole on some but you have that adjustability. The top spire looking thing may look crooked though. 4. You will need to file down the inside part of the spokes after drilling so that the legs can slide in easily. You may need to do this anyway with the spokes in the other hub because there is residual metal from the factory drilled holes that can keep the legs from fitting without muscling it. Tips/misc: 1. I use some of the plastic that wraps the parts and stuff it into the center part of both hubs. There was an issue with wasps making nests in the center hollow part and this resolved it. 2. The corners of the canopy are well reinforced however the areas where the Velcro straps are (that hold it to the frame) are not. This is the first place that the canopy will fail and rip as it ages. The added tension because of the bowed top rails does not help with this. 3. Putting the top canopy on the frame. If you’re struggling with this, just slide the legs all the way into the hub then pull them out till the button clicks. That’s about all I have to offer for this product. Hope it works out for you if you do decide to purchase.

    Completely destroyed after two weeks
I purchased this about two weeks ago. Some kind of crazy wind storm came along and even though this was completely weighed down and shouldn't have moved, it flew away and everything on it completely busted and ripped apart. Not made well at all.

I bought this gazebo at the end of 2020. I don’t have a covered patio so this was a great opportunity to offer a sitting area under the shade. I staked the gazebo into the ground and it was great and very stable. However we had a wind storm last month here in AZ. AZ weather is not usually very destructive. It was a particularly windy day. This gazebo could not handle the wind at all. The metal completely broke off of the stakes and fell over causing it to fall apart entirely. The stakes are still in the ground along with the metal that was welded to the gazebo. It was poorly constructed and now I am out of 300.00 and have to take this apart and find a way to dispose of it. It is very disappointing

It was delivered as promised. It took 3 of us to put up. We made sure all parts were accounor before putting it together. Only 1 of the 4 top corner brackets fit, nut my husband was able to improvise so we continued wit assembly. I am very pleased with the quality of the fabric and netting. I did spray it with Scotchgard fabric protector.

This was so easy to order & free delivery to the store. This is our 2nd one. The first one needed a new replacement canopy after 2 years that was inexpensive & easy to order through home depot. We replaced the whole thing after 4 years. It looks so pretty during the day opened up & at night we close it up so you can sit outside bug free!!!!!

              Do Not Buy
We bought this online on March 11. It replaced an identical one we had for about 7 years. None were available in the store to see, so we assumed it would be at least the same quality. We spend much of the spring and all summer on our patio so with our state shutting down due to covid19 we were eager to purchase one. We picked it up the next week but due to a cold and rainy spring didn't assemble it till March 21. The rain and cold continued so we've only sat out there 3 times and much of that time we removed the canopy due to wind. The quality of this is horrendous. It is so light that even 15 mph wind has it twisting at the base. Nearly all of the upright pieces that attach to the base that you screw into the decking, are broken. Rust is already appearing at the welds. The first minor storm that came through ripped the canopy in numerous places where it is attached to the Velcro. Don't waste your money on this. It looks good, easy to assemble but that's all.
