Will this base support the Hampton Bay 9' aluminum Umbrella that tilts? This is the model # for the umbrela : Model #YJAUC-171-A1.
Asked by: Fatema
Yes -- I used it for that exact umbrella - 9 ft with tilt. It provides good support. But I don't leave the umbrella open all the time - only when I'm using it. An open umbrella could tip over in the wind.

How confident should I be that this product is rust proof ? My previous umbrella base stained by deck.

Asked by: Dan
not sure but it does come with rubber feet on the bottom and so no steel should contact the deck

Is this a stand alone base or does it have to be combined with a table?

Asked by: Preacherman
I combined it with a 48 inch round glass topped table for support.

After constantly picking up umbrellas that had been blown over by breezes, I bought two of these umbrella stands. I then bought a third seeing that they work so well. Super easy to "assemble" ( pop the umbrella in, tighten screws to get a snug fit.) Easy to maneuver on its wheels. Note that direction of wheels, or line of motion, is perpendicular to the lines of the handles.Great product! Highly recommend. So happy I bought these for my pool area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right for my 11 ft market umbrella I was looking for a heavyweight stand to handle a 11' free-standing market umbrella. At 86 lbs, I wasn't sure this would be good enough but we have had gusty winds (in SE PA) and the umbrella stays put. I looked at a more expensive stand that could be filled with brick and sand to weigh up to 135 lbs but thought I'd try this first. I'm sticking with this stand which doesn't require filling and is a bit less bulky/more attractive as well as less $. The wheels are a definite plus for repositioning the umbrella. The wheels don't lock but I haven't found that to be a problem at all. I like that there are hand grips too. Stem on base is sturdy. There is a fitting on top of stem which has an insert for thinner poles which I removed, retaining just the part which centers the pole in the stem. Tighteners on stem are a good size for easy turning. Overall best value and looks in heavyweight stand that I found. Very happy with purchase.

I had my umbrella stand standing in a Home Depot bucket filled with cement for several years. It never fell over. Wife wanted something nicer looking so we bought this. I make sure the umbrella is folded up when storms are predicted because I think a real strong wind will take it away. Who knows but I'm not taking any chances. Oh, I usually keep the umbrella open to shade the cat as she sleeps on our expensive deck chairs we never use.

It's not heavy enough to retain the umbrella on the ground as even the slightest wind will topple it. It breaks in pieces in transit and the carrier drops it off as if it were normal to get a shipment crushed with concrete slipping through the crevices. It's a cheap solution that in the end requires exchanges and replacement for a better product. Don't waste your time buying this. Buy another that offers a better solution.

The umbrella pole that goes with this fits in the hole just fine, except for the fact that you are supposed to tighten the bold in the base to hold the pole in place. The bolt is as far forward as it possible can be. It appears to touch the pole but let go and it falls over. Stupid design and a waste of my money and time.
