Does this have drain holes and lift for logs needed for air circulation?
Asked by: Readyforfire
Mine doesn't have a drain hole. It holds water and is difficult to tip since fleet do not secure to copper bowl.

Asked by: Crosscanuck
My husband moved it himself by pulling the cauldron out and moving it separately. But much easier with the handles and two folks.

Is there a cover available

Asked by: Didi
I bought a 36" diameter cover from the Home Depot website. It's not specific to this fire bowl, but it works great.

Just make sure when putting the bolts on to "Not" tighten until they are all on first....Then tighten. The Cauldron is HUGE compared to many others. It also seems very durable. It has a GREAT shine during first use. Must clean it if you want to maintain that amazing shine. The only complaint is that the insert that sits at the bottom won't last too long because the fire will become too hot and mold it. The insert was a great idea because it allows oxygen to flow under the wood making it burn hotter and faster. Overall I believe this is a great product for the price.

I bought this fire pit to use to burn garden waste, so I wanted something heavy and deep. It definitely fits the bill and is a very nice price. The size is not huge, but much more useful compared with the shallower ones that are made to sit by, which I already have. I am very pleased with the weight of it and the size, but after burning the box from it, the paint started peeling on the inside. Not a big deal for me, I know it's not real copper, but I would have hoped they would have used a heat resistant paint that could stick a bit better. It was very easy to assemble, didn't require lots of muscle. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and it's holding up well. I would just not leave the mesh cover out in the rain, it's like the one I already have that has rusted out pretty fast.

During the first use, the grate/grill that came with the product melted and broke in half while the fire was going. Very poorly made. If it was not so heavy and annoying to put back together I would get it back in the box and return the entire product to Home Depot for a full refund. I am not happy at all.

Had it only one day, great size, looks to be well made but I'm concern the cast iron caldon, bowl is too thin to last. Time will tell. Im wondering about caring for the bowl, and the coating on the cast iron. The one little hole for drainage will only work if the bowl is empty and clean. The mesh top is nice and of good gauge the fire poker is so small its a laugh, it should only be used to lift the screen top. It does not come with a cover, you can get a good one seperate for $20. The size and depth is wonderful, and the grate at the bottom which helps with air flow works very well for keeping the fire from smothering. Last nights fire went very well, much better than smaller fire pits. If it lasts I would give it five stars, if it doesn't I will decrease to minimum stars. I'll try to remember and provide an update next year. Based on other Hampton Bay products I'm hopefull it will last.

It came with a poker which is much too small to use for the size of the bowl. The rack on the bottom bent from heat on the first use and had to be discarded. Outside of those two issues it was a good purchase.

Used for the first time last night. Unlike other reviewers, the rack at the bottom did not collapse with first use, however I did not have more than about four pieces of wood on the rack at one time. The bowl is large so you could get quite a fire going. The only thing I dislike so far is there are two weird holes next to each other towards the rim of the bowl. There does not appear to be a use for them, there were no leftover parts. I thought about going back to the store with it, but decided it was too much of a hassle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as intended Bought the fire pit to replace a chiminea that fell apart on us. Assembly needed some assistance, but was otherwise easy to do. Hubs is still wary about the thin legs. We’ve had it lit every other day for the last 3 weeks without any issues. The grate is easier to bend than expected so we are unsure if it will last over time. It currently shows no melting/breaks/fracturing. I do wish the spark screen lid was a better material as it is very easy to dent in (tot sat on the cold lid and left a butt impression). Otherwise, it works as intended without any difficulty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap Assembling was a pain due to the holes not aligning. Had to pull pieces together and bent to get hole lined up. During my first fire the grate in the middle bent due to the metal softening from the heat. It's a $150 fire pit, I thought my money would have got something that lasted longer than that. It's a decent looking fire pit but I wouldn't be all that surprised if it rusts after being exposed to the elements, especially due to the cheapness of the grate.
