The LED color temperature is not adjustable. You need to buy the fixture with the color temperature you think is best.

Does installation require an electriction or Can I install it myself?

If your familiar with working with electricity then you can hang this yourself. My son is not an electrician and he installed it for me. Just be sure to turn off the breaker and cut all power, then test with a wire tester to be sure there is no power going to the wires. It took my son about a half hour to remove my old light and slap this one up!

The product description says "produces 3000 Lumens equivalent to two 32-Watt fluorescent tubes" but the Specs chart below shows 5500 lumens. Which is it?

It is extremely bright. I love it! I can actually see any small dirt left behind that I would have never seen with fluorescent tubes. I highly recommend. Easy installation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love my new light! It was super easy... I love my new light! It was super easy to install, all hardware, clips, wire-nuts, etc. are included. And it replaced a four-foot long four-tube florescent fixture and this one is brighter...my woman loves it and raves about how she can see in the kitchen now. And, there is no delay when you hit the switch like florescent fixtures sometimes do. The cover is super easy to attach and remove as well...not that I'll ever have to change the "bulbs" as this one is all permanent LEDs....but I suppose for cleaning I can remove the cover any time I want without a screwdriver or wrangling with the grill or screen...trying to get it out of a tight cover....all that hassle is gone.One imperfect aspect, well...its not a $500 designer light fixture made out of machined stainless steel and frosted glass....its a plastic cover, right?... and so you can see, from the sides that along the base are a few clips that hold the cover on. But, I honestly have not noticed them once since I eyed the light critically the moment upon installation and I have had many guests over and no one has looked up and even come close to noticing them. My kitchen ceiling is low... and so they are a bit more visible. I imagine with a normal ceiling height it is even more of a non-issue. For the price point, this light is way beyond my expectations!

I put them on dimmers and they responded very differently. The nickel trim popped off of one. Customer service was not great in resolving the issue. Three times they did not call when we had an appointment. Turns out the electronics (drivers) that control the lights are completely different. One is silver one is black. The parts guy blamed the dimmers and refused to send me a matching driver. Will have to return both lights, after a few weeks of hassle. Disappointing with a $140 light. Made in China

Brushed Nickel Bright/Cool White Rectangular LED Flushmount Ceiling Light Fixture Dimmable. When we first got it home I was blown away by it NOT having the standard fluorescent light tubes! What it does have is these tiny little yellow squares in a strip all the way down one side and the other side has this too, and it was only about 1/8" wide!!!. I was skeptical that those itty bitty things would light up my kitchen! Hook up was a breeze, my son did this for me, of course we shut down power to the entire house and double checked no electricity was going to the light. Afer he got it hooked up and the cover on, we turned it on, and WOW!!!! All I can say is what took me so long! I am thoroughly impressed by this light and am so glad I bought it! Now I have light that is brighter and better on my eyes than my last one. PLUS it updated the look of my kitchen 10 fold! I;m very happy!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright, elegant, energy efficient. I needed to replace a similar-sized kitchen light that used two 40-watt fluorescent lights and chose to upgrade to LED lights. Good choice! This light uses half the wattage of the fluorescents, but generates twice the light! This unit fits flush to the ceiling and the diffuser latches snugly to the housing plate with latches Attaching this unit to the ceiling, however, was a real pain and took me a couple of hours. The wiring was straightforward, but you need to drill four mounting holes that need careful alignment. The included plastic anchor mounts are the crummy white kind that pushed right through my Sheetrock ceiling. Luckily I had some of the good blue-colored anchor mounts that worked fine. You have to do this wiring, measuring, drilling and screwing while the lighting fixture is dangling from the wiring, bumping into your head while teetering on a ladder. They should have included a drilling template. But aside from the mounting issue, I absolutely love my new light!
