can this light be hung, or is it only flush mount

AnswerHi Brian, is made to be flush against the ceiling but you can always pendant mount if your provide all the required electrical service, chains, etc to do that, and you will have to provide other things to hang from all four counters (min) also good idea to have at least one support in the middle of fixture. Fixture does have 4 slots on corner where you can stall the chains with hooks.

Great replacement for old fluorescent
I installed this myself. Everything was included. I did need to repair my ceiling first as the previous install was poor. What a difference! So bright! If you take your time you can install it. Some reviews stated that your ceiling had to be absolutely flat, not true. The small knobby feet at each corner will allow for any unevenness. Others said it is not dimmable. Not true. You have a list of specific dimmers included with the instructions that are compatible with this unit.
I find no problems with the preparation, installation or operation. Great product for the money!

Limited Dimming Range to about 50% brightness
This light is labeled dimmable but does not dim like my other lights which go down to 1% brightness. I expected this to be a standard. However this light only dims to about 50% brightness. At lowest brightness it flickers when the AC or other power switches on.
4000k lumens is equal to about 5 60 watt bulbs. At dimmest setting it seems to be about 2 60 watt bulbs

This is a very bright light fixture! I wish they included a pattern in the box which can be transferred to the ceiling providing location to drill for screw mounting. I made my own pattern by placing the fixture upside down on top of paper, marked where the screw holes were to be inserted through the fixture which later would be attached to the ceiling. I then attached masking tape to the paper and fastened it to the ceiling making sure the pattern was parallel to a wall. Drilled anchor holes through the marks made on the paper pattern, pushed anchors in the holes then drove screws in part way. Position the 4 keyholes on the fixture over the screw heads and slid the fixture in place and tighten the screws. I did not need a 2nd person to help. Installed 3 days ago and it makes a major difference in my one side of the garage.

I would recommend this LED light if my second one (replacement) holds up longer than three weeks. My original light failed when half the lights failed to come on after less than a months use. There was voltage going in but none coming out on the dead side transformer. Home Depot was great about accepting the return and the only hassle was installing the light twice. I love the look and the brightness and if this unit last a long time, I would give it 5 stars.

Looks good but difficult to install
This light fixture looks good and gives off plenty of light. It is more light than I had with a four florescent fixture of the same size that this one replaced. Conceptually it's easy to install but in practice difficult. You need two people to install but three would be better. Two people on step ladders to hold up the fixture to mark off where to drill the mounting holes and also while you are connecting the wiring.
There is no template provided for marking the mounting holes. So if you aren't able to have it held up, you'll need to make your own template which I did from the carton it came in. The provided mollies are cheap. I purchased slightly larger ones at a hardware store that could handle more weight. Be sure to tighten them all the way first. Before installing the light, loosen them enough to slip the light over the screw heads or completely remove them and have the light held in place while you reinsert and tighten the screws.
NOTE - I was able to put two boards across the tops of my cabinets to hold the light while I did the wiring. Two tall step ladders also would work.

Very bright....use of a dimmer control is a must. Easy to install. Used drywall screws into the ceiling beams. You don't have to use the pre drilled holes in the fixture....make your own where necessary. LIght is a fraction of the weight of my original fluorescent fixture with the heavy metal ballasts....was able to install by myself.
