Mine are spaced about 9' apart, and they illuminate the sidewalk just fine at that spacing.

They seem so tall, though. I don't suppose they can be shortened without cutting the metal, right?

Very powerful light fixture. I love the look it brings to my backyard. I purchased two of them and mixed it with existing ones. I only have them for 3 nights but my next door neighbors have them for the last 3 years and they really flood the landscape with very nice light.

I typically buy solar pathlights, but they only seem to last a year or two (the freezing kills the batteries and/or buckles the solar panel). These are much more expensive (and I have to pay for power), but if they last a few years, the longevity should make up for the initial cost. They are also much brighter and will stay bright until Dawn. I chose 3 of these, because the reviews for the other low voltage pathlights I bought, warned of light facing up and blinding you (so, using those for my driveway). I like they direct the light downward, but still project sideways a few feet. On the downside ... a lot of light is directed beneath and behind it (see pic); which for my application, is a waste of 1/2 its light. To get the other 1/2 on the path, you need to mount it close, and with sharp corners, I worry about bare legs getting scratched. Also, there seems to be confusion on how many Watts these are? The packaging (see pic), and web title, clearly claim 5.6W. The description, and Q&A, claim 3W. The reason it matters, transformers are sized by total Watts on the line. If I add more, I may, or may not, be overloading my transformer?!?!

nice and bright
Shopped around and found these. Lower in price but nicer and more lumens. But intergrated LED so when it goes out the whole ficture will need to be replaced. Hopefully they last as long as they say.

(What's this)
Fabulous quality that you can feel and see when you unwrap it. The color and finish are beautiful looking and the touch. The connection line is nice an long so you can find just the right spot to install it. The foot pedal is big and solid construction. One step ad the light is installed in sand or loam. I believe this light is sturdy enough to even go in clay.

suprisingly good
First off they are bright and seem to be pretty well made. I was replacing Kichler brand lights on the front of my house that I paid over $100 a fixture over 12 years ago. I didnt want to spend a lot of money on new lights since my old set had been not working the past 2 years so I figured I would give it a try. I purchased 6 hampton bay uplights and 5 of these. I spent $220 total for all and i am impressed. We will se how long these last but my last lights cost me close to $1600. The picture uploaded does not really show the the light ambient lighting but appears to be super bright. The iphone x camera makes them appear brighter than what they really are

Lights are of very high quality and cast a great pathway light. The electrical connectors to the power cable on the identical lights I had previously purchased severely corroded after 18 months buried in moist soil.
