So perfect!
Just got this and like the other review, I never thought of a rectangular umbrella for a rectangle patio table. It’s just perfect! The color and size is just right. Looks classy in our backyard!

This umbrella is great and it’s huge! It’s a rectangle shape made of a nice cloth material. The crank handle is very comfortable to use and it cranks easily. When you crank it all the way up and then crank some more it tilts the umbrella to help block the sun. The pole has a spring loaded push button in the center that allows you to take the pole apart for easy storage. This a a great umbrella that will fit any table setup the pole is normal diameter. I highly recommend this umbrella

The umbrella supplies a nice shade when the sun is too brutal on my skin and with it I can sit and enjoy a light lunch outside my backyard. The umbrella tilt is a nice feature to adjust the shade as the sun rotates throughout the day. The riverbed shade is a nice color and the fabric seems durable. The rectangular profile of the umbrella shade is perfect for my dining table. Opening and closing is also very easy to do too.

First things I noticed: the umbrella is rectangular (which makes me wonder why I ever used a round umbrella on a rectangular table) and it is light, about 13 lbs. I like the color. This was very easy to set up. Out of the box, a decorative cap is screwed on, and a pole is snapped into place with a guide onto the umbrella body. Put it into a holder, and crank it open. It looks great, and the mechanism is easy to use. The umbrella has a small port window at top to allow gusts of air through. Hopefully that stops the wind's picking up effect with big gusts. An umbrella stand with two screws is a must. There is a tilt mechanism but I have not yet figured it out. There were no instructions that came with it; there are not any either on the Home Depot webpage for this product. I like it very much that the fabric is UV treated. When I have brought umbrellas, this has been a must because my deck is on the south side; it gets torched with sun. It is 10 feet wide and this will cover my 6 ft. rectangular tape nicely. Two feet extra on each side may not seem like much but it is when it is raining out and the chairs are tucked into the table. Less rain will be falling on the chairs. What I did not like: there is no umbrella tie sewn into the umbrella so if you want to close it tight and loop the tie shut then you have to improvise. I made a round Velcro tie. I'm embarrassed to say I have always used a circular umbrella without thinking. I think you get about 30% for coverage from the rectangular size and of course for a rectangular table, it is a good match for providing shade. Inside the mechanism rods go into a round plastic doughnut shaped disk. That seems thin and hopefully not fragile. It any part cracks, the support rod will lose its anchor and make the umbrella not useable. Time and usage will tell. The umbrella is affordably priced and what I would expect to be paid for it. The pole is aluminum, very light. There is a two-year warranty which I think is quite gracious so there is Hampton Bay standing behind its product. I am looking forward to it being in use in a few months. I can recommend this product.

We love this patio umbrella. The color matches the wood stain of our deck and it's span covers the area very nicely from the morning to mid-day sun. The best part, in my opinion, is the open and closing mechanism - it is a simple crank that works effortlessly. Just crank it to open (you can hear it ratcheting) and just crank it the opposite way to fold the umbrella back down. So simple! The top of the umbrella has a little space or slit in the fabric so that if there is a bit of wind, it has a place to escape, preventing being easily knocked down. I expect it to last a long time.

This umbrella would be great if it did not break. The umbrella is large, very large, with a rectangular footprint that makes it ideal for long tables or areas to be shaded. It is very light weight, the fabric has a nice beigey color that matches almost any decor. The pole tilts as well, even though the set up is too high for an average person to reach without a stool. The umbrella opening mechanism is a super smooth and very easy and comfortable to operate. I liked everything about the umbrella except the fact that one of the supports broke as I was putting it together for the first time. There must be a clear balance between weight and strength but the supporting poles seem to be too thin to hold up under almost any circumstances. Overall, the design is great and very practical, the quality does not match.

I like this umbrella. It fits perfectly over our patio dining set by slipping into the hole in the center of the table. I especially like the square design of the umbrella. The umbrella is easy to crank up or lower using the hand crank on the side of the pole. The tilt function is also a nice feature. To get the umbrella to tilt, simply keep cranking the crank past where the point that the umbrella is fully extended, and it will start to tilt over. Once it is tilted, the umbrella can be rotated to keep the sun off the people below. The umbrella has a “vent” at the top although I am not sure what its purpose is (maybe to keep the wind from pulling on it too much?). Anyhow, assembly was super easy. The only two parts that had to be assembled were the round top which screws in and the pole at the bottom that clicks in. Other than that, it’s ready to go right out of the box. I did end up using a Velcro strap I had to keep the umbrella strapped together as I didn’t want the wind to blow it away. It would be nice if it came with one sewn in though. It looks like the polyester fabric part can be removed as the umbrella parts fit into little pockets in the fabric. Overall, I’m really happy with this umbrella and we can’t wait for the weather to get better so we can enjoy it more.

Umbrella arrived packed well and undamaged. As I opened the box, I noticed a decorative top. The umbrella stands about 6.5 foot tall when not in the stand. The fabric is light tan in color and seems to be made from polyester. The aluminum poles are black and the decorative top is black as well. When open, it measures 10 foot wide and it has a tilt so it can be arranged to any desired angle.

This is a great looking umbrella! Very easy to set-up, the mechanism to open/close is very smooth. The tilt is also very easy to operate. The fabric is an inoffensive beige that will blend well in any patio. The top is a plastic ball and does not look particularly upscale. A quick spray (silver?) would remedy that. It is sturdy, even on windy days. Very happy with it!
