This is a very nice quality lantern. The blue is a true, wedgewood/French blue color, and it has a nice, solid feel. I was initially concerned because I wanted to put a jar candle inside it, and the way the handle is attached, I thought it wouldn't be able to fit past, but it turned out not to be an issue... I was able to easily "stretch" the handle attachment and put the jar candle in. I use this as an indoor, home decor item, but you could use it outdoors. The handle seems sturdy, but I still don't know that I'd hang it from a tree or something... it is still ceramic and would break if it fell. Summary: It's a super nice candle holder and makes pretty designs on the walls when a candle is lit inside it!

This is an amazing value. It looks much more expensive than it is. Gorgeous blue color (see photo.) I put flickering solar lights inside of it and it is very pretty at night as well. The ceramic is very thick and I expect it to last outside through freezes as it doesn't hold much water. There is no drainage hole in the center bottom, so it will always have about a quarter inch of water (in case you are trying to avoid standing water for mosquitos.)

French blue is how I would describe the pretty color in Hampton Bay's Denim Ceramic Lantern. The six and a half inch lantern can hold a 3" pillar candle or a small tea light. I will be sitting it on a table in the backyard with a citronella candle. Groupings of lanterns placed around the yard for outdoor get togethers would look really awesome. The black iron handle is fully functional if you want to decorate the trees. Utilizing a battery operated candle is another option for the lantern. It's so pretty. I love it.

When I saw this 6.5 in. Denim Ceramic Lantern on The Home Depot's website, I had to have it. The size and color are both great. It can fit just about any where from a railing outside, a dining room table, or even a side table next to a couch indoors, it looks great everywhere. I chose to place it on a wood table in my living room as a part of a summer time theme I have going on at the moment, but others seem to be happy with displaying it outside with a candle placed in the center; I think that is a great idea.

I ordered this product because it is in my favorite color. I has a handle that you can hang it by, but it is really too heavy for the lantern. As I was putting in a battery powered candle and bumped the side of the handle, the side broke off. I was disappointed, but not deterred. I glued it back together, and will use it with a timed candle so I don't have to handle it too much. It was packed really well, so it might have been a defect in the glazing. It is beautiful and delicate. I will put it on an outdoor coffee table in my covered patio. Care in handling is definitely required.
