These lights have smokey glass shades with the actual bulb covered with something similar to the size and feel of a ping pong ball. They did not seem to get hot, at least not after an hour when I tested them. You can connect multiple strings together. These are so pretty I plan on putting them in the house when I find the perfect spot. I do think the plug end should be longer and maybe have a toggle switch to turn it off and on. Otherwise, I really like these lights and the picture does not do them justice.

This light string is a great addition to any outdoor patio. The light the bulbs emits is soft and not too bright for an evening application. I can’t wait for next summer when I can enjoy these at night on my patio. The smoked glass shades provide a distinctive look from clear or frosted glass. The cord does not have much reach so I will have to use an extension cord to power these when they are hanging above my patio. The other end does have a plug which allows for multiple strings to be plugged in. The glass comes well protected in the box I’ll probably save the box to store these in each winter. The string does not have a loop or hook built in which means I will have to figure out how to hang them from my eave. It includes the G-type bulbs. One piece of information that seemed to be missing on the packaging is how much power this draws and how many strings could be put together.

I ordered this set of lights to use as some "mood" lighting in a room we entertain in and don't always want super bright lighting. These lights are beautiful. They come in a string that's 10 feet long, which is a good, manageable length. There are 8 bulbs in that 10 feet with smoke glass shades. The shades are very attractive and the bulbs inside give off a nice soft light. Perfect for what I need them for! Hope to get them hung up this weekend!

Being leery of the glass globes, I hung these very carefully under the eave close to the house on our patio hoping to protect them from the elements as much as possible. The globes are very securely attached to the strand, so there’s no worry that they may come loose and fall off.
I really like the soft, warm white glow these give off and the pale smoky shade of the globes. The 10’ length was perfect for our patio but can be added onto if needed.

I loved the look of these lights, just from the pictures. The smoky shades give something different to the classic outdoor Edison bulbs. Although the shades are real glass, the bulbs themselves are plastic.
The only negative of this light sting is that the ten foot run only contains 8 lights. Also, the end of the cord before the shades starts is extremely short. You'll definitely need an extension cord to install these anywhere.
Plan on buying a few sets and stringing them together for the perfect outdoor ambient lighting.

Very stylish lights that look great outside or inside, the light 'smoky' feel of them is amazing. I love how they look. The bulbs are white, the shades give them a brown feel. It was hard for me to capture the smoky look well with my camera. The only downside is the strand is a bit short. I found I will need another set to stretch across my deck. Also, the shades on these lights are actually glass so they need to be handled very carefully! The strand is 10 feet long with 8 lights. The length from the plug to the first light is about 26". The lights come with no hooks for hanging. Made in China.
