Poor Quality
Really liked the color of this umbrella. It is darker than shown in the "official" picture.
I ordered this and it came broken. The part where the pole connects to the top to the umbrella/solar pannel base was snapped off. Called customer service and they were great about replacing and shipping me a new one at a discount.
Second one came and was broken in the same place. But wait, there's more! One of the hinge arms that attaches to the part that slides up to make the umbrella open was completely broken away from the unit. The metal pin holding it fell out as I was taking out of the package.
Seems to be either poor craftsmanship, poor quality control, poor packaging or really bad shipping. Regardless, I am taking my business elsewhere

Pictures are deceiving. There is nothing "Taupe" about this umbrella.
The pictures with the white background are deceiving. I just received this item and the pole is a light khaki color. It is not the darker taupe color like the pictures. It is similar only to the picture on the grass background. I do not like this color and will be returning. Now I will have to wait until the end of July for the red version to be back in stock. Maker is Hampton Bay, not sure why they go under the name "Astonica" on the web, but the use and care guide is Hampton Bay. Not sure about the quality or functionality as I was just dissapointed by the color and did not set up the umbrella.

I got 3 years outta mine
The cloth will last about 3 years before you start getting rips and holes, you can't replace the canopy so you must throw it away. Also the pole is crooked where you push button to tilt the umbrella. I bought 2 and they both started falling apart at the same time...about 2 years and 6 months

Broken Out Of The Box
I purchased this item online and went about putting it together which was easy enough but noticed that the 6 pin connector was broken making the solar panel not work (see picture). Unfortunately this cannot be easily fixed as the metal piece inside was snapped.
In addition, the switch to turn the light on is covered by a rubber case to make it waterproof (pictured) but as you can see it has a hole in it which defeats the purpose.
Don't do what I did and throw away the cardboard before fully inspecting as now I have to order parts from HD which hasn't been the best of experiences.

Love It
I love this umbrella. Yeah, its pricey. BUT my table is oblong so a round umbrella kind of looked funny. The lighting is so good that you can play board games by it, eat dinner by it, whatever you want. read a book too, I suppose. My only caviet is that a nut came loose and the arm came out of the up and down mechanism. Home Depot is trying to help me get that nut now as it isnt one you can just run down to the hardware store and purchase. I tried. Hope they can fix it or replace it cause this is the Umbrella to own!

Its a great way to light up your patio table
Hey its an out door umbrella designed for summer use! We made the mistake of leaving it out throughout the winter and it didn't hold up so well. However, we went back to home depot and they replaced it with the same one! The lights are back on! Also, this umbrella stores so much power that you can leave it on all night and it will still be bright in the morning.

Way better than expected. A+++
I bought this umbrella (sight unseen) online since it is one of the few lighted rectangular umbrellas available anywhere. It is replacing an 8 year old unlighted umbrella from the same company that while still useable, was badly spotted from weather, having been left outside year-round. I was skeptical to buy without being able to actually touch one beforehand, but upon arrival was impressed by its enormous size and craftsmanship. Have had the umbrella up for about 6 weeks now and it stands up to wind and storm without any concerns, due to its unique vent at the top. The LED lights are awesome and provide perfect level of light for evening cookouts etc. So far, the solar panel and batteries are holding up well and the lights have been left on overnight several times and are still as bright as ever in the morning. The only drawbacks are: 1. The pole only comes in taupe, but I spray painted the lower part to match my table and it looks great. 2. If you want to use a cover when it is closed, you have to remove the solar panel first as it is slightly too big for most covers.
Beside that, I consider this item to be of great quality, well engineered and unique. I get constant compliments from visitors.
