This table is an excellent addition to set between lounge chairs. It does have a beachy feel with the grey ceramic top, and the rattan-look lower shelf. I also like that the table has an umbrella hole. I am very pleased now that the table is assembled, but I will say the packing and the assembly were a bit frustrating. First, the table comes packed in a box that is almost impossible to open. For some reason the maker used some kind of glue to glue the carton closed. My husband and I struggled to finally rip open the cardboard. To make matters worse, the glue on the back of the cardboard remains sticky, and it got on our floor as well as sticking to our hands. This was absolutely packing overkill. The table assembly is not at all difficult, and the instructions are pretty clear. I will say attaching the lower shelf to the table legs is quite awkward, and does require a second pair of hands. Now that its done, I can’t wait for the warm weather so we can go back outside and use this side table (if the snow ever melts!).

I am very happy with this Hampton Bay beachside square steel outdoor patio side table. Assembly was very quick and easy since the only tool needed was an allen key which was included. The heavy duty steel frame means it will last for a long time through most weather conditions. I also like the hand woven resin wicker shelf and precut center hole for holding a small umbrella. I would definitely recommend this product.

One very handy and versatile table. We got this table for two reasons; the weight of the table and the option of adding an umbrella. It arrived with excellent packing, no possible chance of the item being broken or scratched. And with 4 large screws, 4 small screws, and 8 washers, anyone could put it together. It also comes with the appropriate wrench to assemble it, and instructions are hardly even necessary. Assembles quickly and easily, has excellent weight to keep it in one place, and would be very difficult to knock over. It is a great new addition to the patio, and an umbrella may be our next purchase!

First, this table is shipped in a very heavy-duty box, well glued together. So good, it is a little tough to open, which is good. Lots of foam and large corner protectors. The table is basically six pieces: 1) Steel framed ceramic or porcelain tile top. 2) Steel center shelf wrapped in wicker looking material that appears to be much more durable than wicker. 3) Four steel legs painted to resemble wood. It was easy to assemble, four allen head bolts hold the top and four more hold the shelf. If comes with an allen wrench so no other tools are needed. It is easier to assemble with two people as you need to hold it in alignment as you tighten the screws. The table is very solid and sturdy. Weighs 20 something pounds. Two of the four legs have adjustable feet, The umbrella hole can be plugged with a matching round plug which has an o-ring seal. It is perfect to put beside your patio chair for drinks and food.

Hampton Bay Beachside Square Steel Outdoor Patio Side Table is a really great value. The table is heavy so it will not tip with wind. It was packaged well and VERY easy to put together. The price is reflected of the construction- clearly a 2x2 tile grouted to a frame. Some of the grout was not cleaned up very well so we had to scrape it off. The picture online looks like thick stone, but like I said the table is a really good value.

A very sturdy outdoor side table. It arrives as a kit: the table top, the lower shelf and 4 legs along with assembly instructions, required assembly hardware and assembly tool. The 2” thick table top is a 20” square variegated gray glazed ceramic tile in a well constructed steel frame. It has a center hole that can accommodate a 2” maximum diameter umbrella pole. A gasketed gray painted metal plug is provided if the umbrella pole hole is not utilized. The 4 legs are 1 1/2” steel tubes painted to resemble wood and have plastic feet. The bottom shelf is a painted steel frame woven with a taupe color synthetic wicker – this shelf can hide an umbrella stand base and the 24 lb. weight of the table helps to stabilize an umbrella if used.

The Hampton Bay outdoor patio side table is a sturdy little table with a nice heavy tile top. Not too big nor too small it is a great matching accessory to the Hampton Bay outdoor patio dining chairs as you see in the picture. Note the picture is of them inside and once the snow is gone from the patio I will bring them out, BUT I think they are also a good choice for a three season room or screened in porch. Two of the legs are adjustable so there will not be an issue of it rocking on an uneven surface. Packaged very well and easy assembly.

The table has a well-done faux concrete looking top supported on steel legs. The top frame is a 2-inch-tall aluminum extrusion with a rabbet at the top to receive a 20-inches square, gray, concrete looking porcelain tile. It appears that the tile was set in mastic and then grouted around the perimeter. There is a 1/8-inch-wide aluminum border around the tile which is part of the aluminum extrusion. The corners are welded and ground smooth. The aluminum frame has a flat gray finish that matches the tile top. It is a nice design that looks like thick concrete from a distance. There was grout residue in the top and the frame, so I recommend that you wipe down the top and sides before assembly. The top is supported by four 1-1/2-inch square steel tube legs angled at eight degrees from vertical. Although not mentioned in the instructions, two of the legs have plastic adjusters (levelers); the other two are flat on the bottom. After giving it a little thought, I installed the legs with adjusters beside each other rather than opposite of each other. Legs are attached to the top frame with four bolts and washers. A steel framed with a woven, taupe-colored insert forms a shelf when attached with four bolts and washers near the bottom of the legs. All bolts should be installed hand tight before final tightening starting with the top frame bolts. A 4 mm Allen wrench is provided for the bolts but if you have a long T-handle wrench the assembly process will go quicker. It took me just under 14-minutes to put the table together. The bolts and washers are NOT stainless steel. The finish on the legs is faux woodgrain—light brown with dark brown striations. It looks fake but it may be finished that way to match other furniture in the Hampton Bay Beachside line. I will probably repaint the legs hammered gray. Unfortunately, there are stickers on the sides of two legs that will be difficult to remove. If they were on the inside of the legs or better yet under the tabletop, that would be okay. The finished table weighs exactly 23 pounds and is 18-inches tall. Although there is a 2-inch diameter hole in the top (with a removable insert) for an umbrella, the table should not be relied on to keep an umbrella from tipping over. Although I recommend the product, that recommendation does not include its use with an umbrella as I would give it the same rating without a hole in the top. I do not plan to use it with an umbrella. Also, my three umbrellas all have 1-1/2-inch diameter poles so the pole would have a lot of clearance in the hole. (The hole in the tile is lined with an aluminum insert welded to the top support frame to protect the hole in the tile.) I measured that it took just under 10 pounds at the edge of the table to tip it over. The area under the shelf is 13-inches square by 4-inches high. I have an 18-inch square water filled base that I sat under the table, but it stuck up too high. The 3-inch hole in the webbing allowed the socket and thumb bolt to pass. So, you will need a steel or cast-iron base no more than 20-inches in diameter or 2-1/2-inches tall around the perimeter. Although the table is for “outdoor” use, there are warnings that will affect its use: store table in a dry sheltered place, keep table away from heat, fire, freezing conditions and inclement weather—rail, hail, sleet. Snow and wind. Manufacturing defects and finishes are warranted for one year, fabric for 3 years, and the tile top is not warranted at all. The table is a product of China.

Tile, steel and vinyl "wicker" - this will last outdoors whatever the weather! I don't like to recall all the outdoor furniture we have purchased thru the years that didn't last more than a year or two. The wood rotted, the wicker came apart, the metal rusted and the plastic stretched or discolored. A lot of money down the drain. The exceptions? The 5 piece resin wicker set, with cushions, we bought from HD is going on 3 yrs and looks as good as the day it was delivered. This table is steel with a quality paint and the real tile top is nicely supported. The vinyl wicker shelf should be fine since it doesn't hold a lot of wt. and is protected under the tile top. The packing was incredible - came thru without a scratch. The instructions are very clear and very easy. All the screws and washers are vacuum sealed on a card. and labeled. Went together in about 15 minutes. Heavy. Good looking. Stable. I am impressed with this product.

The Hampton Bay Beachside Square Steel Outdoor Patio Side Table with Tile Top is just OK, not as good as I had hoped. This Made in China product was well packaged and and came with detailed assembly instructions which made this table easy to assemble. The steel and tile top makes for a heavy sturdy little table, however the table was not level and had a bit of a wobble. There is a hole in the center to hold a patio umbrella, but the hole was larger than the umbrella pole causing the umbrella to lean and the bottom wicker shelf was too low to the ground to fit a weighted umbrella stand underneath, so I won't be able to use the table as a patio umbrella stand. The table looks nice, but I don't recommend this side table.
