Q:All answers regarding bulb wattage say that I can up the LED bulbs without issue. One reason why I bought this as I wanted brighter, dimmable lights. However the light kit states anything >9W is a fire risk. Help!

Fan seems well built and the included instructions are very easy to follow. The fan comes with all parts needed for most scenarios, including 2 LED light bulbs. The bulbs are sufficiently bright for our room (~18'x15') but are not overly bright. The blades have two different finishes, a dark brown with wood grain or a black that matches the matte black fan itself.
The fan is different from most in that you install the blades after attaching the motor to the ceiling mount. This difference makes the fan lighter and less bulky during hanging and when attaching the wiring - a really handy feature. The blades also insert into the motor housing instead of hanging from the perimeter. Another interesting feature, though I don't think it changes the functionality any. Overall a nice fan.

This Hampton Bay Claret 52 in. Indoor Black Ceiling Fan with Light Kit is a beautiful ceiling fan.Will go great in any room. Directions are simple and easy to read so you can install it and the light kit. It's nice to have ceiling fans so you can have the air circulating in your home. I have one in my living room and bedroom but I would like to install one in the kitchen so it doesn't get so hot in there.

This is a very good and functional 52 inch indoor ceiling fan with a light kit. The fan was very easy to install with the inclosed instructions and hardware. The only thing I did not like was that the hanging bracket attached to the ceiling electrical box directly. I prefer rings that attach to the electrical and the handing bracket attaches to the ring. But the installation still went smooth and allows the complete rod assembly to hang on the bracket while you attach the wiring. Just make sure to follow the instructions and get all the covers and pieces in the correct order. Then it is just attaching the blades and then the light kit. The led light blubs for the light kit are included. The speeds and lighting are controlled by pull switches and does not come with a remote. But the installed fan looks great in bedroom and provides great air movement. A very functional ceiling fan.

This is a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that is Home Depot's signature series, made exclusively for them. The warranty on the fan motor is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and material present at the time of shipment from the factory for a period of a lifetime after dating of purchase by the original purchaser. The two LED bulbs furnished with the fan are warranted for three years from the date of purchase. The fan comes finished in a black matt finish. The average DIY can handle installing the fan using the following tools to accomplish the task. A Phillips screwdriver, a 4-6 foot step ladder, electrical wire stripper pliers, and a roll of electrical tape. One thing that I would also recommend is to place a blanket or sheet below the area (on the floor) where the installation will be performed. Over the years of having a pro handyman service, I must have installed countless ceiling fans and have dropped small screws which were hard to find. By doing this procedure it will eliminate the headache of looking for something that was dropped.

Installation of this fan took me longer than it should have. There were a couple places that removing or loosening a screw would have been easier a few steps prior than when they appeared in the instructions.
However, once installed, the fan is great. 3 speeds: the slowest is a nice breeze that will barely ruffle papers and the fastest is quite breezy. The light bulbs are LED so energy efficient. Cool white (amber tone) bulbs included (2 of them). The dark bronze finish is a nice modern look and the blades are reversible, dark brown on one side and a lighter brown on the other. Frosted globe diffuses the light nicely. Highly recommended.

I love the fact that you can flip the blades for different wood patterns. One side is like a dark mahogany and the other is more like a sandy butcher block. We chose the butcher block because it was a better match for the room décor. It is also nice that the fan light uses generic LED bulbs instead of an unobtainable light module. Although the fan uses a down rod, we installed it into a bedroom and over the bed where fan height did not matter. The instructions could have been better, especially the part that describes screwing the down rod into the motor assembly. Best way to do this is to completely remove all hardware from the tube, insert the wires, screw it in and then reassemble the rod. The fan looks nice and didn't need to be balanced. The only negative might be that the light diffuser that blocks about half of the usable light.

This has to be one of the easiest fans I have ever installed. The instructions are complete and easy to understand although prior fan installation knowledge does make it easier to follow. I liked the way the fan fit together and the fact that Hampton Bay has designed it so that very little has to be done during the installation process. I have never had a fan where the blades fit through the body and then bolted on. I really like that process and look. The light is bright with the two LED bulbs that are included. The fan was very well balanced, although a balancing kit is included. I did not have to do anything, even with the fan on high. The motor is also very quiet. This is a very good fan and light which looks great in the room.

I have fallen in love with this oil rubbed bronze color that is so popular now, and this fan is stunning! One side of the blades has a wood grain look, and the other side has the bronze color, so it's nice to have the options! Also included is a 'low profile' light kit along with 2 energy efficient LED bulbs. It also features a very quiet 3-speed reversible motor.
