Cheap Finish
I purchased brushed gold and it's been just over 1 month and the brushed finish is rubbing off showing shiny brass spots beneath. It looks awful. I'm not rough on things and this looks rough. I've got 5 of them in various sizes. Not happy.

Blemishes
I purchased this plate based upon the reviews. While I love the Hampton bay plates that match, the Amerelle version is of poor quality. There were multiple blemishes that could not be fixed on both of the 3 gang plates I ordered.

This Amerelle single gang switch plate is a very nice. This is Daltryl series is stylish. The satin nickel finish is very nicely done. This switch plate looks to be a stamped out metal, very solid and durable. Installation is really easy like every other wall plates, the stamped out holes are lined up perfect to match the holes in the switch, comes with all the necessary hardware.

This switch plate in beautiful satin brass, a chunk of real metal in your hand, is a high-quality product from the Hampton Bay line. It is a traditional “Americana” design that makes a statement of subdued elegance, exceptional quality, fine workmanship, good taste, and close to impossible to abuse or break. It has for me, that comfortable “home I grew up in” feeling about it, that compliments just about any setting. It was a perfect choice to dress up a rather sad looking old kitchen light/fan wall switch I have. It had one of those still available, fragile as glass egg-white thin plastic switch-plates, that sit packed about one hundred in a box at most general merchandise stores with hardware and electrical departments. The original price was barely a dollar, and still is, and they have always come with a well understood caveat that back in the day, when they were the best seller with little else to choose from, everybody understood was “You over-tighten it, or poke a plug at it just a little too aggressively, you break it. Guaranteed." I really like this up-to-the-job and really attractive new choice, and I have outlets and switches in need of upgrade all over my house. Excellent choice, and I recommend it.
