With this light be strong enough to light up a sled on a 20-foot Pole

20 Watts is a lot of light in total darkness. At 20 feet off the ground however, the throw ratio isn't intense enough to illuminate anything. You would see the brightness of the light at the top of the pole, but that's about it, this light works best when it is allowed to reflect it's light off a surface. The fixture would be like a candle's wick, not much more. The fixtures themselves are stubby to keep them close to the ground so they can bounce their light off of surfaces you want to illuminate.

Will they stay on threw the night and how many nights?

You need to hook these up to Landscape wire and then to a transformer. You set the transformer for the time that you want (24/7, dusk to dawn or specific start and end times). I have had these lights installed throughout my yard since 2016 and they work like a charm. No issues so far

What is the coverage on these lights from a degree perspective?

I would say about 25% - 40%(at the furthest point of light). They really light well - very bright. What's written on the box as far is coverage is accurate.

Pleas see my review of several low voltage LED lights on Home Depot.com site. Typically you cannot dim a low voltage light and still keep the water proof light or connectors dry. Home Depot.com has several transformers that have a low and high setting for the current that flows to the lights. This is the only real way t dim the lights. I am pretty sure Hampton Bay transformers offer this option.

The fixture needs to tight on the provide stake. Horizontal adjustment is made by moving the to the desired position. Vertical adjustments are made with the thumb screw on the right side, select the desired angle and tighten.

Can these lights be spliced to a12 gauge wire?

Asked by HawkSocal March 18, 2018

Answers

Yes, Home Depot.com sells low voltage wire nuts that have a silicone material inside the sire nut. The silicone coats the wire to prevent corrosion.

Can this be mounted to a wall, w/o the stake, obviously?

Asked by Pete January 14, 2018

Answers

Yes the stake is a 1/2 inch pipe thread you can easily go to your local Home Depot and purchase a nipple ( black or galvanized) to your desired length, threaded on both ends and a wall mount bracket. You will need to buy some low voltage in line connectors as the connector to the main low voltage line will not fit in the 1/2 inch pipe or take a grinding disc and cut a wire slot.

Are you able to set this in automatic timer?

Yes you can

What a transformation for lighting up the house at night. I used the pathway lighting kit which also came with two flood lights and added two more flood lights to create gentle, warm up lighting for the front of the house.

I installed two of these floodlights on my existing 12V system a couple of weeks ago. They replaced fixtures that were a few years old and they met my expectations totally. Installation was a snap and they were easy to adjust (aim). I would definitely recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

I have changed all my yard lights to LED without upgrading the transformer. He light is bright and looks great (as you can see from the picture). The fastener worked the first time attaching it to the wire. Highly recommend these lights, the cost is reasonable and they have a 5 year warranty!

(What's this)
I like these lights and strongly recommend them but with some reservations. LED generated light has such a great advantage over halogen lighting in the low voltage format that it isn’t even close. This light is advertised as generating the equivalent of a 20-watt flood. I assumed that to mean a 20-watt halogen and not tungsten. That turned out to be true and it did it with less than 5 watts. I am very pleased with the amount of light and with its warm white color. I have had had low voltage landscape lighting for the past 5 years and have been extremely pleased.. LED was not an option back then so all my fixtures are halogen. I got this light to experiment with and see if there was a way to replace my existing lights with LED lights when the bulbs burned out. Since I cannot convert my fixtures to LED, there are 2 issues I needed to know more about. The first was the amount and quality of the light. The other was the style and quality of the fixture. I am very pleased with light quality so the only outstanding issue is the fixture. My system is by Unique Lighting Systems which is a very upscale product. The good news is that this inexpensive light is a most acceptable replacement for my floods. The bad news is that Hampton Bay does not make a fixture that is similar in style to my area fixtures. Unique Lighting fixtures are cast brass were Hampton Bay’s are aluminum. Which reflects upon one of the differences between LED and Halogen fixtures. You do not replace LED bulbs if they were to burn out. You replace the fixture. Functionally, the fixtures and similar it most all other respects. The Unique light is more of a spot light where this model Hampton Bay is more of a flood. I included pictures to show the lighting characteristics and the differences in the style of fixtures. I used the Hampton Bay light to flood the large landscape stone. It does a better job of distributing the light over the stone that the other fixtures did. Unique Lighting provides a huge selection of fixture types which Hampton Bay doesn’t. In my photos, you will see some of my lights are buried in cement. In which case, I’d be very concerned about replacement issues. These lights are not candidates for replacement. In summary, this light produces as good a result as the most expensive lights. They are all LED now so that is no longer an issue. The difference is in the style and quality of the fixture. I am not concerned about the quality of this light. My plan is to use these lights everywhere I can. If I were starting with a fresh sheet of paper I might be more willing to keep the design away from the types of things that require special fixtures. But that is why Unique is in business.

Super Pleased!
I honestly had low expectations regarding the overall light output of these lights...but wow....they have not disappointed. The beam pattern and spread of these floods (about 70°) fit our needs perfectly. I paired them with the same floods but in the 50w brightness to reach the tops of our trees.

(What's this)
I already knew these were good lights because a year or two ago I had bought 2 sets of 12 each that came with some of these and some other landscape lights. The floods in those sets were these exact same ones. And they have held up well over time and worked out great. I've not had the first bit of trouble with one of them yet out of all I have out. I got this single one because I wanted to put one more out on the back side of my house where I have a rear patio that is unlit but for these. I've used solar out there before and it was OK but this is much better and is on all the time after dusk. They light up the steps on my back patio making it a lot safer to go out at night. I already had wire run so all I had to do was grab a surface mount base to go with this and bam problem solved. The pic I took was on a dark rainy night and I could see plenty good to go up and down my steps. I highly recommend these lights. They've been good for me. And the set that uses this same light is a very good deal. I shopped around a lot before buying them and have not been sorry. And these are super easy to install. I have these paired with one of the Hampton Bay transformers that have a remote sensor and it works great. I hid the transformer and my power box under a faux rock and you don't even notice it.

(What's this)
I am impressed with these Hampton Bay low voltage led flood lights. With a 70 degree light spread they are great for highlighting trees and other landscape features with out hot spotting the location. The LED lights consume only 4.5 watts with the same output of a 20 watt halogen bulb. I have had very good luck with the Hampton Bay low voltage series LED bulbs. They last a long time and have had very few call backs.
