Product Details
The landscape transformers are Hampton Bay's lowest profile slim line power units which can be easily concealed after installation. These units are based on a potted toroidal core design that eliminates annoying buzzing sounds while offering the highest efficiency possible. Our Hampton Bay SL units meet the Department of Energy DOE mandatory requirement efficiency rating of VI. Utilizing state of the art sensing circuits our transformers provide dual safety functions that detect and react to a system overloaded or a short circuit condition in a landscape installation. Hampton Bay power packs provide convenient features and flexibility to design simple or more elaborate landscape lighting designs. The transformer includes a photocell and digital timer, a ground shield making it safe for use with submersible lights. The units are equipped with dual voltage output terminals (12-Volt and 15-Volt) which help compensate for voltage drops in high-Wattage / longer wire runs as well as to help reduce cable loss when using 15V LED fixtures.

Q:Ok so it worked great for 4 months. I had it power a string of 21x3w led. Then yesterday just completely stopped working. No voltage at terminals. Reset button does nothing. Is there an internal fuse that controls output or only input?

Casing comes apart - Beware!
I have 3 of these transformers of which 2 have succumb to the same failure. The steel screws which hold the casing together rust and expand causing the plastic to explode and case comes apart. The device may continue to work but becomes a great hazard. This could likely be fixed for a few cents by using stainless steel screws. This is a safety to life issue and this product should be recalled.

I have bought for Hampton bay transformers in the last...
I have bought for Hampton bay transformers in the last 10 years, they don’t last very long. The issue I have come across is that the sun ruins the LED read outs so it’s hard to reset so the failure rate is not good.

The only reason I bought this was to replace a prior one I purchased. The other one worked fine, except you could no longer read the panel and I wasn’t able to make any adjustments. They really need to do something about that. The lighting is very dim to begin with, even on the new one and can barely be seen in daylight.

I purchased two of the Hampton Bay 200-Watt Transformers one...
I purchased two of the Hampton Bay 200-Watt Transformers one for the front of my property and the other for the back. Both transformers are working great, and they are easy and quick to install. I also like the variety of programable options (12v, 15v, photocell dusk to dawn, digital timer, manual on/off). The price is very reasonable for this 200-watt Hampton Bay transformer, and I would recommend this product.

The display is a bit hard to see on a sunny day, and the programming instructions could be a bit clearer, but it worked nicely and was easy to connect to the 12v line. It was replacing an older unit (different brand) that kept tripping off.
