There are removable clips on the chair frame in front of and behind the arms. What is the purpose of these clips?

Hi Sharon, I couldn't find any Hampton Bay chairs of that description. However, in another brand of stackable sling outdoor dining chairs, the weight capacity is listed at 225 lbs. You put one on top of the other for storage.
Just simply put one on top of the other! :) They stack rather easily and compactly. I love these chairs. They are comfortable and look great with throw pillows on the porch. Enjoy!

This item is seasonal and goes fast. You might want to check other locations for stock. I also wouldn't be surprised if restaurants were buying these up because of the virus for their outdoor dining.
