Serious quality problems with the light bulbs
As some others have reported, there are problems with the bulbs. Otherwise, the product is attractive and the lamps look well made for the price. The string provides 70W of light which is OK for a small space. I bought two strings and got two bulbs that were defective. The base of the bulb is warped to the point that it cannot be screwed into the socket - which is how I discovered the problem. See the pictures showing a good bulb on the right and two defective ones.
I had to return to the store because Hampton Bay does not replace the bulbs and in fact seemed completely uninterested in addressing the problem with the manufacturer.
Note also that you may have trouble getting replacement bulbs. The product ships with 7W bulbs, but the only bulbs I have been able to find that are the same size (G40) are 5W.

After 30 days starting to show a bit of rust on the hoods. Otherwise seem to be well built and function great. Interesting note on the labels received, says these are expected to last 90 days. Seems like they will last all winter though.
