A:  12 volt DC.... They run off a 12 volt transformer which is pluged in to your normal home 110 volt a/c outlet.

A:  Pretty sure that it is 12V A/C - standard landscape transformers put out 12V or 15V A/C

Good Light But a Few Failures
Overall I love the light. There are not many lights that are NOT so bright. For some reason they make most of these path light extremely bright and at night your eyes are adjusted and you do not need soooo bright. So for one of the few that are dim and pleasant at night, this light is made of metal and is made well. EXCEPT that I have had 3 of 6 fail within 8months. I believe the problem is that bugs are traveling up where the wire feeds to the light and are able to get dirt and debris in the fixture which causes a short on the circuit board. The box says 5yr Warranty - so I called HamptonBay which is actually HDepot and they had no problem providing refund for the cost of the lights. Good CS thanks. I plan to buy more to replace. I SUGGEST to place a dab of silicone where the wire feeds into the top part of the fixture so that no bugs can enter the top housing and cause issues. I have done this for the ones that still work and will be doing so on the replacements. Good luck.

Nice lighting! nice looking, dome mounting is very fragile
I bought these lights to replace some cheap lights that came in a kit. These are much nicer. Its true, you get what you pay for. The good features are that you can buy replacement stakes for them for when the get knocked own by a lawnmover, dog, kids, etc. And that they put a nice amount of light at a verry low voltage. On the downside the mount for the dome is extremely fragile. I have 8 lights. I have replaced 3 or 4 due to the dome mount breaking. I’m going to make a reinforcement for the dome moint.

The connectors that connect to the wire are absolute garbage!!!
So I ordered 11 lights, 6 of another type and 5 of these, and I had installed the 6 others and 1 of these and then the last four the connectors all had hairline fractures which caused them to split apart hopelessly when pressure was exerted to connect to the cable. So I was forced to drive to Home Depot about 15 minutes away. I was able to get two new lights, but they didn't have any of the replacement connectors in stock, which was contrary to what I understood from the internet search I made. So I proceeded to another installation to get the connectors, having carefully checked online to make sure that they indeed had them in stock. The website said they had 6. I found only one pack of 2 underneath the shelving, where I looked in desperation. I finally finished the job at 7 PM, having been forced to drive all over for what should have been copiously stocked product. Better yet - that the product was not such poor quality! Other than that, the lights were easy to install and look great. Customer likes them.

Though the lamps themselves are attractive and seem sturdy, the connectors that link the lamp to the low voltage cable are a different story entirely. Very flimsy and poorly designed, at least 70% cracked open and fell apart when being connected to the low voltage cable. I tried both 12 and 14 gauge cable (which the instructions cleary stated would fit the connector) and had the same outcome. My wife really likes the fixtures so we have had numerous trips to our Home Depot to find fixtures with connectors that wouldn't crack. Very frustrating!

Very poor quality. Poor stress points were top is connected which is very easily broken, see pic. Internal thread in shaft to connect to ground spear not properly threaded making entire unit unstable when mounted. One thread was so bad it just slipped over the male thread with no resistance. See pic. Plastic wire connectors bad on all six units. Snapped in two with very little pressure. Took all back to Home Depot and will never buy Hampton Bay products again.

Great for the money and great product. It's a subdued light, not made to put out a lot of light, but great for out of the way lighting as I needed a new bed I created to the side and corner of my front light, great effect it casts on the flowers and new shrubs

First of all, the wattage on this fixture is 2 watts and not 3 watts. The resulting lumens of light is 60 lumens. It would be about 50% brighter if it were 3 watts and I wish that it were. That's the only negative comment I have about this landscape light. It is very easy to install and the pinch clip connections actually work a bit easier than on some other landscape lights I have used. The finish seems good too. At just two watts you can get quite a few of these on even very small transformers but I would still prefer a bit more light so that these lights could be spaced a bit further apart. With the current wattage, I would think they need to be about 6 feet apart to provide adequate path lighting. I was hoping for enough light to space them 8 or 9 feet apart. Still, at this price point they are a good value and I will be adding more the the two I already have in the near future.
