I am a first time fire pit user so can someone please suggest some links on what kind of wood or logs can I use here ? and how do I start the fire in the pit ? like what to use ?
Asked by: Singh
Best to start the fire with dryer lint or a paper towel or newpaper (all dry and easily combustable). Add small, dry twigs on top of the dryer lint/paper towel/newspaper. Once small twigs start to burn, add slightly larger and larger sized peices of wood. As you add wood, make sure there is space between pieces (the larger the pieces of wood, the more space). Don't add too much wood on at a time as this will smother the fire and put it out.

I just bought this product and I see mixed online review on the paint peeling off the outside

Has this issue been resolved and how does it effect the integrity of the product, is there is recall or warranty for this product?
Asked by: Soldierdoc
If you put it away when your done using it and don't have it out in rain it'll stay fine.

Do you have to use the log grate or can you build your fire on the bottom of the pit?

Asked by: Mimi
Yes, the grate needs to be used on the fire pit every time.

The version we bought has a grate with legs. We put the grate in so it's about four inches from the top, and build a file on top of that. But a lot of photos we're seeing (and comment) make me think that the grate should be used with the legs up (to keep the logs in place) and the grate sitting on the inverted V pieces on the bottom, so the fire is deeper in the pit. We've used it about a half dozen time and can't keep a fire going. Wood is perfect, but every time embers are built up they fall through the grate onto the floor of the pit. So... which way does the grate go? Legs up or legs down?
Asked by: davey
Grate legs should be down. your covering the air holes in the bottom and smothering your fires

Quadripod 26 in. Round Fire Pit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 265.

I prefer this deep barrel design over a shallow bowl, which I also have, because it holds more wood, provides heat at a lower level (my legs and feet aren’t cold) and the wide sides radiate a lot of heat.

I had discovered that my old Fire pit had a leg that had rusted out and could not be used. I had 35 people coming for a Christmas Eve Festivities and needed to do something fast. I ordered this online to be picked up in store. This Pit really exceeded my expectations. It has a great look and was easy to assemble. I received more than one comment about how nice it looked. The logs I had fit perfectly and I was very happy with my purchase.

The basin is also a lot larger than a bowl equivalent, allowing larger fires that last longer, which is nice. Only info I didn't see online about this fire pit was that it requires sand in the base of the basin to prevent the metal from rotting from fallen ash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fire pit for the money For those giving this pit a bad review, what do you expect for this price range? I bought mine 2 years ago and it sat out during the last Northeast Ohio winter. Was it in perfect condition when spring arrived? Well, not it wasn't. Did I expect it to be for $80, No I didn't. Still, it was definitely functional in year 2 and I can probably get another year out of it if I want. It may not look perfect, but it is still structurally sound. I'll then likely buy this same product because for $70 - $90 it's a great deal! Bottom line, if you want a pit that will last for 10+ years, expect to spends hundreds of dollars more than this pit sells for. This is, at most, a 2-3 year fire pit, especially if you leave it out during hard winters. As long as you're okay with that based on the VERY reasonable price, you'll be happy with this pit.
