We had one like it last year. It did not rust. The one we had 3 years ago is rusted now. We use it to put firewood in.

Is it necessary to put sand in it? And if so how many pounds?

Asked by JBog November 9, 2020

I would definitely put sand in. The firebox will last longer. And it will be less likely that anything underneath or around will combust. The 40lb tube of sand I bought was more than enough

Does this help to keep us warm on a patio when the weather is 40's or 50's?

Asked by Flo November 9, 2020

Kind of. You have to burn the fire high in order to stay warm if it’s in the 40’s. 50 degree nights would be cosy. That being said, this needs about a 6ft clearance all around to burn safely . Be mindful of where your intending to use it .

Yes. Remember to pit sand on the bottom inside so the ash and briquettes won’t damage the inside finish

It was very easy to set up. Minimal tools and effort needed to get it set up and ready to use. The manufacturer's suggest adding sand to the bottom. Make sure to pick up sand it delayed us a week because we didn't know we needed it. Great fire pit it's absolutely beautiful.. I like the fact that this year's fire poker doesn't have any plastic it's all metal..

We love it
This fire pit perfect for its price. Big enough for a nice fire. Could be sturdier but its not made of cheap material. We absolutely love it. It says 26 inches but it really looks bigger.

worth the $
For $79, its a decent product. We’ve had it for a week so far. I’ve put as much wood, cardboard and recyclable paper in it as i could fit and it works fine. I doubt it will last forever but we’re enjoying it. I added sand to the bottom as directed but also put some gravel in the middle to stop the sand from pouring out of the drain holes

Great fire pit
The fire pit was easy to assemble. The only thing now is I have had it for a little over a year and there is a hole on the side. Other than that it’s a great fire pit

faded within a week of use
The finish came completely off after the first week of use. The so called grill is useless. It sits about 3 inches off the bottom of the firepit. Useless unless you would put charcoal in the bottom.

We do not include a grill with this fire pit. Perhaps you refer to the Grate that sits on the bottom. This is to support wood logs and not for cooking. The paint finish naturally burns off from the heat of a fire. You can retain original look by re-painting with high temp paint after each use. Sorry you were disappointed. Yayi-Lavastars

Drill holes
This fire pits cheap sheet metal but i knew that before I bought it. I only expect for it to last for one season. The first night I had to keep stoking the fire and adding lighter fluid to keep it burning. After close examination the second day I realized that it had no combustion air. I drilled 12 3/4 inch hole around it above the sand but below the grate and it burns perfectly! I suggest any purchasers do the same. It looks nice and for the price and the 2 minutes it took to make it work I would recommend this to my friends. Don't expect it to last long.
