I want to butt this cabinet up to the side of my matching kitchen cabinets to create a slightly lower base for a desk top, can I cut the toe kick off so it sits on the ground placing the cabinet 4.5" lower?

Did you end up going with a different solution or did you remove the toe kick(s}? If you removed the toe kick do you like the results? I'm looking at using these for office cabinets in my home office. Would you include a picture?
