AnswerThank you for your question. Yes, the remote will work as a standard remote without Alexa or Google. If you are not planning on using the smart features, we would suggest buying the Rothley II fan (52051) with a standard universal remote like model # 98131. The standard universal remote has the same features as the smart remote (except for the smart part) and will save you a few dollars.

If the wall switch is a dimmer switch, please confirm that the bulbs are dimmable. The "universal" smart remote receiver DOES NOT FIT in canopy
Home Depot, or Hampton Bay, bundled a universal smart remote with this ceiling fan. The receiver for the remote is huge, and in no way fits inside the ceiling fan canopy. I called HD for help, and they could not comprehend the issue. I have photos, but nowhere to send them. I asked for a replacement smart remote that would fit in this canopy, and they sent me to Hampton Bay. What a mess!

We're sorry to hear that you had this issue. The important thing to note is that the ball of the downrod must be seated properly in the mounting bracket so that the slot of the ball is seated on the tab in the mounting bracket. If the ball is not seated properly, the available space in the mounting bracket will be decreased, making it difficult to place the receiver.

Beautiful, easy to assemble. My only complaint is that they did not come with mounting screws for the bracket. This was not an issue where I replaced an existing fan, but was when I added a fan where a light fixture had been. I bought 6 and one had a non working light fixture, but it was easy to exchange at Home Depot. Also I wish the light cover was glass instead of plastic.

I used dark side. Looks expensive, but not. Very elegant in bedroom with 8 foot ceilings, rooms about 10x10ish. I'm not sure about the installation, had it professionally installed but there were no issues. Sits just about flush with the ceiling, teeny tiny crack between ceiling and base. Very stable, no wobble.
