AnswersMy fire pit is about three years old. I think you have to expect a little bit of rust since the heat is so intense. I think it adds to the look. I bought an aftermarket cover and it was much better. I bought my cover from the cover store. They make one that fits. I would buy this pit again.

The fire pit itself is great its deep can handle a larger fire to sit out all night. My two complaints would would be the stick to lift the fire screen, its so short you have to reach over the fire to connect. And the screen itself is not good quality. Only had it for 3 weeks and its already rusting.
