No, they are not compatible. I actually own both devices, and I would tell you NO without hesitation. They have nothing in common that would make them compatible with each other.

Answer

You would need another unit for another door bell, you cant use a separate door button to operate ( which would operate a single plug in chime) You need one push button for one plug in chime. You can set a different tone for an extra push button ,so you know to answer the right door. Example , if someone is at the back door versus someone at the front door., each unit can have it's own tone.

Answer

No! No transformer needed! Unit plugs into a standard 120v duplex outlet! Another plus, no battery needed in the outside push button unit!

That is done by pressing the large black button towards the top of the chime until you hear 2 beeps and then pressing the trigger button you want to control the chime with. Repeat for each chime, using the same trigger button for outside. If you have trouble, you can also contact technical support - they are very helpful.

Will this doorbell work if button is mounted on a metal storm door?

Asked by Thel December 30, 2020

Answer

Hello, If being attached to metal the unit should have a small wood shim placed behind it. This allows the signal to get out of the button and past the metal.

How to reset the sync

Answers

Kj, You just need to resync on of the chimes. So you will press the sync but until your hear a double "beep-beep" from the chime. Once you hear that sound you will press the push button you want synced to that chime and it will activate the chime (play a tune).

Is the button outside lumminated?

We wanted a wireless camera doorbell for our new home that wasn't wired for a doorbell. Unfortunately the angle of the front door, wall and porch was not conducive for the camera option. So we went for the Hampton Bay bell that doesn't even need to be screwed in! (I used the included double sided adhesive tape option). And, no batteries needed (not sure how that's done?) Chime gets plugged in and has a choice of 4-5 sounds and 3-4 volume levels. Plus it kind of looks like a camera.. Very pleased so far!

This wireless portable door bell by Hampton Bay is awesome. One of the first things that amazed me was that it does not need a battery! The chime part or the part you keep indoors, will fit any socket it is two prongs. The door bell part does not require batteries, and can be mounted easily. It was designed in a way that it is easily seen. It can transmit up to 200 ft and even has volume control and a mute feature as well. It has six different tunes. love it.

Easiest installation in the world.  This is a great new addition to my side door, and I was sold on it immediately. So easy to install and I used double-sided sticky mounting tape. Plugged in the doorbell inside and played with for quite a while. There are 6 tunes you can choose from, and I liked them all. Finally settled on my favorite, but this can be changed at any time in the future.  Tried it out myself, and was totally impressed. This is a wireless doorbell, and requires NO batteries whatsoever.  The volume is  loud enough to be heard in almost any area of my home.  I am delighted to recommend this Hampton Bay wireless door bell to all interested Home Depot shoppers.

This is a nice little wireless doorbell. Attractive style. You get a little white square push button thats has a sort of tinted window Looking top half. The push button is crisp and responsive and has a very sticky pad on the back that stuck solidly to my wood trim. The actual bell portion that you plug in has the same look as the button, but it’s about 3 times larger. Basically it’s the size of a standard receptacle face plate. The ring is nice and it’s plenty loud enough for us to hear throughout the entire house even if the TV is going and we are upstairs.

This is a little gem of a product and I am really pleased I found it. The button is installed right outside my workshop and the plug-in chime can be quickly inserted into any electrical outlet anywhere in the house, or outside of it for that matter. Now I am instantly alerted to callers whether I am in the workshop, the office or anywhere else as long as I plug in the chime. The loudness can be adjusted but I like it in the 55 to 65 decibel range for my old ears. Batteries are not required which is a bonus and there is a three year warranty.

Really like the fact that there are no batteries to replace or end up corroding inside push button. Simple to install and use. Plug in doorbell unit into any household receptacle that is close to the location you plan on placing push button and either use included double sided tape or screws to secure push button to outside of house, apartment, etc. I placed mine in dining room area halfway between front and back door and stuck push button on vinyl siding using double sided tape. I like that there are several different chimes to choose from and that volume can be adjusted.

Wow! The description on the package grabbed my attention first: "...battery Free...". The second attention grabber were the words: "...Wireless...". Is this door bell a gift from heaven? I'm too old to start a wiring project for a door bell, and I have so many battery operated gizmos that the money I pay for batteries each year could probably end world hunger. (Or, maybe not). This door bell is absolutely fantastic. The main unit plugs into an outlet practically anywhere in the house up to 200' from button. The button installs with two small screws or double backed tape. The sound has a volume control and a mute feature. I am very happy with this door bell.

For years we've tried to find a wireless doorbell that none of our neighbors have. FINALLY, this Hampton Bay version works ONLY with our doorbell button! Super easy to install, and self-explanatory of choosing the doorbell chime sound. Plug the doorbell in to an outlet - we placed ours at the bottom of the stairs so we can hear it upstairs and downstairs. Then mount the doorbell button - easy easy for us since we already had a wooden plate affixed to the outside brick. As you can see by the third pic, the doorbell is compact and unobtrusive. It's plugged into a standard outlet. Despite it's diminutive size, it's loud enough we hear it throughout the house.

Wow, no batteries. The receiver plugs into any 110/115 volt outlet and the call button have no batteries either. The first thing to do is plug in the receiver, set to: on or mute, select tone, set volume-done. The existing call button was installed to far left of the left door and hardly was used. Most deliveries are set to the right, out of sight and now the button is easily accessed. You can mount the call button with small mollies and screws or the included two-sided tape, which I used. The very next day delivery was made and they rang the bell, how nice. If you already have decided where to put the two components it will take you 10 minutes at the most to install this. There is a nice selection of tones and the volume, if necessary, can be set louder than any doorbell I have ever heard. This well worth the money.
