Loved by makers, our machine-cut shapes take the hard work out of creating personalized designs for the home.

  • Species: white or yellow birch, grade B2 (or equivalent) with a veneer core, CARB phase 2 compliant
  • Smooth, sanded, birch veneers on face and back, veneers between 0.35 mm to 0.45 mm, square-cut corners, perpendicular to edges
  • Free of natural and manufacturing defects, including large chips, veneer patches on face, splits on face, knots larger than 1 in. on face, core voids over 1/2 in., splinters and fiber tear-outs
  • Intended for indoor use, if using outside, seal with a weather-protectant finish and place in a covered or protected area

Q:Can this be used for a cutting board in the kitchen?

Answer This Question

A:  Judy, while there isn't a food safety concern, we would not recommend using this product for a cutting board. It is just not able to stand the wear and tear from cutting, repeated food contact, and washing. The veneer would be destroyed quickly.
