Q:Is it strong enough to use as a seat base? I need to repair the seat to an adjustable salon type stool on wheels. So it will be attached to a metal plate which is mounted to the post.

Answer This Question

A:  Laura, The size of the metal base would factor into this. If the metal base is at least half the size of the circle, you should have no issues with warping. I would have concerns if the baseplate is significantly smaller or If this stool experiences a lot of heavy duty use, then it might be safer to go to ½”. The ½” birch circle could be a great alternative if that is the case.
