A: The Hanover Deck Rail planter is not self-watering. The planter is large enough to retain water, protecting plants from drying out too quickly.
A: No, it doesn’t have a water reservoir. You have to water it.
A: You can spray the planter with spray paint specifically designed for plastic. Home Depot sells this type of spray paint.
A: Yes. I did that, but did sand a bit first to get the old paint off.
A: You probably could . I’ve been using mine 3 years now without paint coming off, so I haven’t crossed that bridge yet.
A: Yes, we did.
A: I bought 2 of these at different times about a year apart. The first one is still great, but the second newer one has exactly the same issue you're describing.
A: I have 2 rail planters and have had no chipping.
A: I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Hanover deck rail planters. There are 4 coats of protection and shouldn't chip. Please send pictures to email@example.com. We will review and offer a solution. Thank you!
A: No. It’s heavy. And it tilts on my 2” handrail so we had to secure it by screwing a wood block under the rail.
