    A:  Hello, Ice for this unit are in 1.1" x 0.87" x 0.81" cubes. Ice forms in the verticle tray that drops the completed cubes as a perforated sheet. The unit is designed so that the fall from tray to bin will break apart the cubes on impact. Thank you

        Very disappointed
        From the beginning the ice maker made a terrible noise that can be heard from all over the house. The ice maker also put out chunks of ice that you had to break up and did not fall apart. Then almost a year since our purchase the drain pump failed causing parts of our kitchen to flood and caused damage to the floors. Very disappointed and hopefully no one ever buys this product. DON’T YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!

          Terrible Ice Machine and Terrible Service from Hanover.
          I rarely post reviews, but this ice machine was such poor buy, I felt I had to post one. I knew I made a mistake buying this ice machine as soon as I bought it. It's loud enough that you can hear it from across the house. I've owned a number of other ice machines from commercial (in my restaurant or my garage). It makes as much noise as a 500 pound per day machine that you would find in a restaurant. One top of that, it makes ice in sheets, meaning maybe 8 cubes high by 12 cubes wide. However, it drops the whole sheet into the bin and the cubes don't break into individual cubes. You have to constantly use the scoop to smash the sheets of ice into cubes and it never smashes the cubes into individual cubes, they are typically two and three cubes big at the smallest. The bin isn't well refrigerated, so what you get is called 'wet-ice.' Basically, slightly melted ice. Wet-ice melts much faster than dry ice, so if you put this in a drink, the ice is 50% melted in the first 5 minutes. After a year, I have a issue with the unit - the drain pump stopped working. I called the service number and it was clearly an outside service who just took the call and forwarded the service request to Hanover. Four days later, Hanover emails me back and asks some questions, which I immediately reply. Ten days after that, no response, I go to the Hanover web site. Long story short - ice machine is broken for weeks and I can't get Hanover to respond nor find anyone independent who will even work on it.
