Is this suitable for outdoor use in direct sun?

Is this suitable for outdoor use in direct sun?
Asked by: CMS
CMS-These blocks come unfinished. If you would like to use it outside you will need to treat all sides with an outdoor oil based sealer.

Can I cut this piece straight down the middle to make two 19 1/2” pieces to join together?

Asked by: Kip
FWIW The piece I received measured 6'2" by 38.5" (i.e., 1/2" short of the 39" stated depth). So if the 19.5" size is critical, be aware of this possibility.

Is the sapele wood dyed? I received the Sapale 6'x3' countertop the other day (ordered here). Today I took it out of the packaging. About 2 hours later, as instructed, I applied 100% mineral oil with a clean cloth. The color of the wood transferred to the cloth. 20 minutes later when I wiped off the excess oil with a new cloth (as instructed), the color continues to transfer to the cloth. I have never heard of raw lumber transferring its color. Seems the wood was dyed? Thanks.

Thanks, Jake so much for answering my question! In case you see this, does 'top coat' mean, for example, Waterlox finish/sealer?
