how often do you apply and will it work to prevent weeds from coming back?

AnswersThank you for contacting P.F. Harris. The Harris 20% Vinegar Weed Killer is non-residual, which means it does not kill beyond its initial application. The 20% Vinegar kills only plant tissues it touches. Plants can regrow because their root systems are not harmed by the vinegar. You may re-apply as needed. Thank you. P.F. Harris

AnswersUnscrew the cap and adjust the length of the hose. Mine was hitting bottom blocking flow until I raised it slightly. Then turn the adjuster on the tip of the sprayer until you have the wide or narrow footprint desired. Hope this helps.

I have tried Harris Vinegar Weed Killer on two types of weed. One was bermuda grass and the other - taller weed with round leaves. I sprayed on top of those two areas and waited 4 days to check for results. On second and third day, it was raining heavily. Nevertheless, this staff worked. I learned that the lower the weeds the easier for this weed killer to work, the more vegetation above the ground, the less effective this stuff is. I think it would work better for splaying after using a weed-wacker to let the stuff get closer to the roots. One more thing, weed is killed only through direct contact. Anything around the spot I sprayed stayed unaffected, which is a good thing if I need to use it around good plants. And yes, it smells as vinegar, like, very strongly!

I have always had a hard time killing the moss that grows on my driveway and sidewalks over the winter. Have tried different weed killers with mixed success. This particular weed killer appears to be doing an effective job on my moss. I sprayed it on about 10 days ago and the moss is already showing signs of deteriorating. In another week or so, it should be completely dead and I can just sweep it away.
So far, I am very impressed with the results. Because it is in a spray bottle, it is ideal for using on small areas. I have several around my house where the sun doesn't hit and the moss tends to accumulate.
The only "negative" is the potent vinegar smell. I know. It is a "vinegar weed killer." Just wasn't expecting it to be as potent as it was. Not a big deal because the smell quickly dissipates. It is most noticeable upon application.

I've used horticultural (20%) vinegar before but this is great in a spray bottle! No mixing, just point and shoot. And it's non toxic so no worries about synthetic chemicals and harming the environment. This spray is typically meant for individual weeds and borders - it's not intended for broadcast use. I used it on the edge of my patio and the photos say it all - in just 24 hours.

The 20% vinegar weed killer seems to have done the job on the dandelions and other weeds in one day. But this nettle looks like it will need more time. Maybe 3 days, ? But it should not be longer if it is working on it. But if the nettle is to tough for it then it will recover by day 3 but I do not have the time to get that long of test its going to rain on it.

Harris Vinegar weed killer is a great product for the home gardener. Past products that I have used that said all natural, never worked very well. This product is amazing, one spray on a big weed in my yard and a short time later, "DEAD". The added benefit of this product is that vinegar also kills white fungus that I have in my yard. A couple squirts and a few hours later the mold has turned brown and is no more. This product will now be a permanent product in my arsenal.
