Product Overview

  • Designed for application between roofing cement layers
  • Meets or exceeds ASTM D1668 standards for added safety
  • Yellow resin coating helps minimize distortion
Henry 183 yellow fiberglass fabric is a woven fabric, made of flexible filaments or pure glass saturated with asphalt. It has tensile strength of 75 lbs. per in., giving it stability and durability. It is also acid and heat resistant, and won't rot or decay. The fabric is leak resistant, and helps you easily repair your roof. The special yellow resin coating on the fabric minimizes distortion and is compatible with asphalt cements and coatings, emulsions, solvent-based and hot-melt types. Since the yellow color is conspicuous if not completely covered, it also aids quality workmanship.
  • Woven open-mesh fiberglass for strong bonding
  • Yellow color helps you ensure the fabric is completely submerged in roofing cement
  • Meets or exceeds ASTM D1668 standards
  • Apply between layers of roofing cement
  • Apply between layers of roofing cement (not included) in commercial and residential applications
  • Great for vertical applications with a leak stopper (not included)
  • Completely submerges between layers of roofing cement as part of a 3-way patch for easy installation
  • Coverage: 6 in. by 25 ft. per roll

Questions & Answers

Us this good for trailer metal roofs that leak. How many coats of stuff do you have to put on it?

Asked by: DeeDee10
DeeDee 10-for that type of situation we would recommend first apply either our 884 or 885 Tropi-Cool 100% Silicone Roof and Seam Sealant (no fabric required) on any large cracks, gaps, openings, etc. and after that forms a 'skin', following with our 887 Tropi-Cool 100% Silicone Roof Coating. This will give you a nice reflective water tight roof. I have included links below for you that contain more information as well as several instructional videos. Thank you for putting your trust in the Henry Company and The Home Depot. https://us.henry.com/roofing/roofing-sealants/henry-884-tropi-cool-silicone-roof-sealant https://us.henry.com/roofing/roofing-sealants/henry-885-tropi-cool-silicone-seam-and-repair-roof-sealant https://us.henry.com/roofing/reflective-coatings/white-roof-coatings/887-tropi-cool-100-silicone-white-roof-coating

Can this product be used (on the inside of gutter) to successfully seal a gutter leak?

Can this product be used (on the inside of gutter) to successfully seal a gutter leak?
Asked by: Greenhat
You could use this with one of our patch products, such as Henry 212 Crystal Clear Sealant or Henry 209XR Extreme Rubberized Wet Patch. Most customers just use our Henry 212 Crystal Clear Sealant on all the seams to seal the gutters. Another common thing customers have done is use our Henry 887HS Tropi-Cool 100% Silicone Roof Coating to coat the inside of the gutters. For more info, check out www.henry.com or contact our product support at 800-486-1278. Thanks for putting your trust in the Henry Company and Home Depot.

I needed a 6" wide fiberglass reinforcement for RedGard waterproofing in a tub surround I am preparing to tile. I could not find anything in the local store or Home depot on-line. I was talking to someone at the service desk about my dilemma and he suggested trying this mesh to see if it would work. The Henry repair fabric imbedded nicely in the RedGard. I believe it will do the job of keeping the waterproofing from cracking in the corners and so will keep my shower surround water tight.
