Is this self-leveling? The website product description says that it is, but it doesn't appear to say that on the bag and the video shows a thick mix that would not be able to level itself.
Asked by: Zjdiy
NO! It is to be troweled on a leveled manually. Use either Henry 555 or LevelLite product if you want a self-leveling surfacer.

use on vinyl

Can this be used over a vinyl picnic table?
Asked by: peabodymom
Don't know where to start on this one. I assume you've found a solution by now? If you have a vinyl table that needs a new top. Or you want a concrete top? This is not a good solution for anything flexible or bendable like plastic. Plastic also tends to expand and contract a lot in cold and heat, another red flag. This stuff has polymer in it so, it has a small amount of resilience, but it is still a masonry product. It will crack will only a small amount of bending or stretching sitting on top of a plastic table.

I have a 4 ft per side corner of a new slab that was finished poorly due to truck timing, and I wanted to get it level. Its about 3/8ths low in spots. I bought 2 bags and put them in my black mixing tub(great tool) I read the instructions, and noted the fast cure time, and cool water rec. wanting to stretch as much as possible, I put the 2 gallons in the frig the day before. this is a fine powder, like pure portland, and was lumpy as I mixed in. before icould get enough extra water worked in to get the lumps out, and correct consistency, it started to set up. I could literaly feel it stiffening in the pan this product may be fine for very small jobs, but the 1gal/bag is wrong, and you just do not have working time do do more than mebbe 5lbs at a go

Even though the package says that it is ok for wood, the product has no flex without an additive from Henry. Had to tear up four bags worth of repairs and lost a day and a half. Henry recommends adding 546 mix or using 549 mix for flex areas.

Unfortunately the 25lb bag I purchased may have been old product or poor packaging. The pot life is listed at 14-20 minutes which is short as it is. It set up in less than 10 minutes even before I could get it properly leveled. I did a timed test on another small batch and it was unworkable after about 8 minutes. Could have been old product affected by humidity - the 25lb bag does not have a plastic layer in the sack. I have used the 10lb box (which has a plastic bag liner) before and since, and been very pleased. My Home Depot store did not carry the 10lb box. They were great about refunding the purchase and took note of the possible packaging problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sucks I aplide this to cover seems of underlayment plywood and staples. Yes it covers but does not finish smooth have to sand and that don’t work well either. It dries way to fast and makes a mess. Will never use it again only if I have big patches only. Maybe.
