687 Enviro-White 100% Acrylic Reflective Elastomeric Roof Coating 5 gal. (24-Piece)

For the past 20 years, I have been dealing with a leaky roof. Tracing the origins of the leak has proved difficult, but a few clues have helped in the diagnosis. If the rain is steady (not wind-driven), the leaks are minimal to none. I inspected the interface at one of the skylights, and noticed shrinking of some of the caulking around the perimeter. I brushed on the Henry's product in that area; sure enough, no leaks occurred when Hurricane Hilary passed through. Very pleased.

Applied this following the video instruction (one layer of Henry Asphalt Emulsion Sealer and Dampproofer Roof Coating with roofing fabric plus one layer of this one) last Apr. Checked my roof couple weeks ago, bubble and peel, wear and tear everywhere !!!!! ( I live in southern Florida) It took me a whole day to sand off the all the bubble and peel before applying another layer of asphalt. It's not lasting!!!! Hope everyone who left a five star review come back after a year and tell people if it really worth it.

After cleaning the roof, 2 coats covered my granular rolled roofing, second coat is easier and takes less liquid, goes on best not in direct sun. It is WHITE and sun glasses are definitely required when sunny. Only been on my roof for a week and a BEST review would be in a year or to. Should keep the house much cooler.

Was very happy with the out come had to use more then what was noted 1900sf 9 5 gallas buckets but very happy parapit wall for the seams use a 6 inch cloth with 3 coths works great

This Product was easy to roll and with two coats, I am very pleased. I have used other products but the outcome is much better with the Henry 687 and has a much deeper appearance. Also, this product is recommended as a cooler roof in Az. in which I am looking forward to.

Do the math. Get some bids on professional roof repair and compare against need for a true power wash prior to application of product, versus the amount of product that will truly be needed. Was a good learning experience...but for us...cracks reappeared and it'll be like chasing our tails. In the right circumstances, the product probably does what it's supposed to do... it didn't for us and some additional guidance we got from a Home Depot associate regarding another Henry product actually made things worse... Such is life...a teaching moment!!

We have been using this product on the roofs of storage unit freight containers for several years and are very happy with the results. The white color and the thickness of the coating add heat insulation to the metal roofs as well as preventing rust from causing leaks. Due to our open exposure to the weather of the Northwest at about 48 deg North, we install an initial three coats and they have lasted five years without problem on our original units. We continue to use it as we add more units to our lot.

First off, we are relatively small women and while we do a lot of home improvement projects ourselves, there's one thing we can't overcome and that is physical strength. We enlisted the help of our 6'4" athlete friend to carry these 5 gallon buckets up a ladder to our roof and even he was surprised at how heavy they were. From what we could tell in the store, these are even heavier than the white roof coat that's a step down in warranty (and I'm guessing thickness?) Next we swept our roof twice over, with two different types of brooms as we don't have a pressure cleaner and have no idea how we'd get it onto the roof even if we did. We've been told since by a day laborer that that was a mistake... we should have washed it. I guess we'll see how things go in the years to come. Our roofer told us a third coat in 2-3 years is a good idea regardless. We also chose an usually hot weekend to apply this product. Stupid, stupid, stupid. We will not do that for future re-applications of the product and encourage you to check the weather reports for freak jumps in temperature on the weekend you might plan to apply said product because IT IS HOT UP THERE and taking off clothes will leave those of us with light skin burnt (even with sunscreen). The white reflective material is intense and it feels like all 90 something percent not absorbing into your roof is now absorbing into you. Okay, that was the worst of it... Application otherwise was relatively "easy" as others have said. The product rolls on smoothly with a roller on a pole. We used a 3/8" nap. No issues. We'd had our roof serviced the month prior, so we didn't patch anything ourselves, but if you haven't had your roof serviced recently, you might want to follow the directions and patch vulnerable areas prior to applying. The two of us applied two coats. The first was the most difficult and it took us around 6 hours to sweep and apply that coat on around maybe 1000 square feet. (It's hard to know the exact amount as we have a tile roof that covers a large portion of our home so we just applied the Envirowhite to the flat composition roll). The second coat went on much more easily. Maybe 2- 2.5 hours to apply that coat. The result: Temperature inside our house appeared to be about 4 degrees less in difference to outside when compared to the difference in temperature from inside to outside from the day before. Part of me thinks 4 degrees isn't a lot for how much work that was, but when you also keep in mind that this coating should theoretically extend the life of one's roof, help prevent leaks AND keep the cost of electricity for air conditioning down, I do believe it will be worth the time and money in the long run. We haven't since had a weekend as hot as the one where we actually applied the coating, so it's hard to tell for sure, but we haven't used our air conditioner since application and it does appear to be cooler in our home. Not sure if that's mental or not yet. Only the summer will tell us for sure. Mostly, I just wanted to show you some more photos, because I scoured the reviews looking for examples when I was trying to figure out whether or not to go through the hassle. FYI, if I were to do it all over again, I would... only on a much cooler weekend.
